Prepar3d V2.0 entering beta

Featured Replies

By far the most important thing to me would be the ability of the 2.0 installer to install right over 1.4 so that we do not have to go through the painful process of re-installing scenery etc.

LM have already stated that version 2 will be a new version and no update version is planned, you will be able to run 1.4 and 2.0 side by side ( maybe not at the same time but you know what i mean )

if it is the FS11 that we were waiting for a long time, i think all of the FSX community will migrate on Prepar3d

I would guess we would have to lower the very high AF and AA settings we tend to use but the 570 is no slouch so it can still be good to go :)

Running a 760 myself and hoping that will be enough with a decent amount of AA and AF :)

I guess the gpu is strong enough but it only as 1.2 gig of memory. I will hold off for now and give it a test ride when LM releases.

Thanks for your input

Does anyone have a link to  list of addon vendors who support P3D?

Manny - hopefully this might soon mean all of them!

I started reading the list 10 minutes before supper...was called up for supper....returned, and still had 5 minutes reading the list

goes on and on and on and on with lots of techy words

Be careful what is discussed here....this info appears to come from a leaked beta tester in breach of a NDA. Don't want to see anybody here get suspended for being too excited!

I guess it would be hard to not at least whisper something you have learned about the features.

You can whisper all you want, just don't post the list here. It would violate a number of our policies (hate to be a kill-joy folks, but if someone wants to put my lawyer on retainer through the period up to the release from NDA by LM, then I will be more than happy to allow it - and he's not cheap).

Then agreeing to a NDA would be as good as the electrons it generated. I find it hard to fathom LM would follow the path of MS flight and put this out to a public beta testing and in general a bunch of ..edit?

completely agree, an NDA is an NDA!

Can we speculate?

This will instantly transport PC flight simulation technology 8 years forward in time, from the ~2005 tech used in FSX to modern 2013 technology. The jump will be similar to when groundbreaking features like smooth clouds (instead of sugarcubes) were introduced or when we went from triangular mountains to true 3D elevation mesh.

Truly exciting news.
