I love this aircraft so much, I got carried away with some screenshots and quick video I made from last nights flight from KSAN to KLAS ... and yes that is FSGRW weather, it really was that clear of a day :)

You can indeed leave V1.5 in place, and intstall V2 as additional aircraft, however I can't really see the point. As good as V1.5 was, it's unlikely you'll fly those models again once you've flown V2.

I am keeping mine in place for a'while because it was previously mentioned:

"Both versions will work alongside each other but the original will not have the new sound effects, animations and all the other new features.

Very soon after release we will post a texture pack that will enable you to combine the old textures and liveries with the new ones, after which V1 can be removed as it will be no longer relevant.

You can't do this at the moment because various new features won't work with the old liveries."

Yeah but he's not the only one; the usual rivet counters have showed up to pick banal faults with an otherwise perfect model.

I don't know why some people ever buy any add-ons, when even those close to perfection seem to disappoint.

Another name-caller!

I was never interested in that rivet mod for Duke, and never cared much about smallest details found say in PMDG737NGX. And I don't like their windshield perspective in 737NGX too, hard to explain. But their B777 is a huge improvement in this aspect for me.

@Rob: great video, exactly what I started looking for on youtube when I saw this thread.

@Christopher: no worries, I just knew it wouldn't take characters like Dave long before adding in something very acerbic, so I went defensive right away. :P

Thanks,

Dirk.

Thank you.  I guess I should have posted in the Video/Screen shot forum, but I figured it was appropriate here since the it's the new V2.0 Duke and lots of enthusiasm for it here.  Hopefully Tom/Mods will forgive me :)

Cheers, Rob.

Thanks for the video. Guess she has kept her noisy character, eh? Means in comparison to the hum from the turbine Duke. But that one surely goes to my list of soon to get items.

I'm still trying to decide what Reality XP combination I like best, aesthetically!   Right now I have but a single GNS 530 configured and it looks good, but I'm not really getting my money's worth out of that $100 crossfill license then am I?

I mentioned it months ago, but I still would really like to see Real Air add in an option for the Reality XP weather radar.  Yeah, back when I was on a Reality XP kick, I just had to have that too...

RXP GNS530 + GNS430 + CROSSFILL worked best for me in the previous version.

Dirk.

Now, I am curious.

Why would you want to keep  the earlier version?  What am I going to lose with the new version that I would need to keep the eariler ones?

That was a RIOT and then I found this and laughed even harder... the song made me laugh. Not sure why..

C.

That is fricken hilarious. Where the heck did you find that pig of a video?

We left V1 intact because we don't have the right to remove something that customers have chosen to install, because it is not a patch, or a bug fix (except maybe 2 out of at least 50 or more new features) but a new version of a similar addon. Some customers like the old liveries so we don't want to prevent enjoyment of them. Thanks for your post.

I love this aircraft and just completed the first leg of my Uk tour, Edinburgh to Newcastle.

BUT...and it´s a big BUT!

On approach to Newcastle, I lost all my VC clickspots!  Exactly the same issue I have with the A2A C172.  After 3 patches from them I have put that aircraft in the hanger.

So this is something that PMDG saw during Beta testing of the 777 and fixed.  They informed A2A of their fix, which A2A applied but it didn´t really help. A2A now have 3 patches and hot fix that seems to be tracking down the issue...slowly, and now the Realair Piston V2 gave the issue.

To resolve it I had to alt tab out and back in, then all was fine.  :(

I agree, I just reinstalled from scratch. I'm flying now in southern Norway... awesome!

No please don't let this be true...thinking of pulling the trigger on this one.

I'm getting the same spotlight shooting out from the sun in V2 as I do on the Legacy. Turning off VC Window Reflections and VC Window dirt gets rid of the problem, but I'd rather have some kind of reflections when flying. The Legacy, Duke V2, and Lionheart Fairchild are the only aircraft in my large hanger that display this phenomenon. Since I fly mostly in California, mornings and late afternoons, and the weather is clear more often than  not, this phenomenon is bothersome to me personally as the sun is always in line of sight. Is there any way you could talk to your texture guy about an alternative reflection texture that doesn't do this? Brilliant aircraft otherwise as usual :)

Just a suggestion, but I am using the the freebee Sun Glare Mod from the Moqwai Shade forum, and it has mostly eliminated the same issue for the Legacy.
