No. Please do not attempt to use *any* PMDG products in Prepar3D unless you own a P3D version (which nobody does).

As far as the data collection goes, that was my fault. I'll just convert it. No need to re-do it.

Great - thx! Sure hope you guys will end up releasing the js4100 for prepar3d (no need to answer Kyle)...

Guys, remember that PFPX was NOT made for FSX, specifically.  It's a fuel planner that calculates based on real world data.  If the aircraft developer then uses real world data in creating its aircraf

  • Anything I can do to help? just bought the J4100 and love it more than the T7 or NGX at present. Takes me back to when I was doing my PPL.

I can certainly parse it on my own if it's easier. My issue with the stuff on websites is that it usually involves all kinds of fields/data that I just don't have, or doesn't expose the formula.

Kyle,

I have converted the formula for TAS to an Excel spreadsheet where all you need to enter is IAS, Recovery Factor, Pressure Altitude and IAT. Let me know if you would like me to send it to you.

If IAS = 250 KIAS, PA 10,000, RF = .8, and IAT = 2C, then TAS = 287.6742. :-))

Just wanted to show my support and interest for ya Kyle and crew. I have enjoyed your videos Kyle and share your J41 passion.

Stay thirsty my friend! Happy to donate to the cause.

Currently picking through so many different places to get all of the information, compile it and prepare it to get current wx conditions, flight plan, ect. and create proper printed sheets - like Topcat and PFPX does.

Would be nice to have it all in one place.

IMO - Even if the PFPX profile is not perfect, we are just simming and I am sure people will help find any flaws (wanted or not).

Holding off buying PFPX and Topcat until this profile is released.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your effort regarding the performance file.

Hope that we can use soon. :-)

Any updates?

I believe it was about a week's wait 6 months ago now. :(

I was just curious as to the status of this.  I know you have put in a lot of work on this already!  (Thanks by the way!!)

This is taking longer than PMDG's release of the plane!

I know, but I'm taking it as a good sign that Kyle and the rest of the team are busy! After all, this is nice to have, rather than need to have... All in good time, I'm sure.

I noticed on Simbrief, which I rarely use since having PFPX, that there is a JS41 profile. They also have several other planes that PFPX doesn't - even saw one for the Metroliner, in case any of you have the Razbam one.

There is also a Metroliner profile for PFPX on Aerosoft's download area. In fact, I happen to know that they are both based on the same data ;)

The problem with the JS4100 is that it is virtually impossible to find enough data for this plane on the web to create a PFPX profile. I applaud Simbrief for having been able to create a (really useful) profile for this plane.

Cheers,

Peter

This is probably a dead horse guys.

Dan,

It would seem that if Kyle is not going to do the profile, he just needs to let folks know. I did my part on this. :-)

The same can be said for TABS and the Nvidia Configuration Guide. If he's not going to be able to update it, just let folks know. :-)

I've been lurking.

To be honest, though, as far as priorities go, I don't think anyone could argue that Ryan and I should be placing either of the things mentioned higher up on the list.

It just seems a shame when so much work has already gone in to it by several people. And from what I've read there doesn't seem to be much left to do to get a usable profile.

Never assume amount of work unless you know the amount of work that is required...

Since you're so sure there isn't much required, you (or anyone else in this thread, for that matter) are welcome to have a go at it. The document that was provided to me is still available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RTHC4l-P1HwTn52JW8iSDN_syDlzU6XjUrymPZlvTIg/edit#gid=0

Keep in mind, though, that the speeds are not TAS, and PFPX needs TAS, so those will need to be pulled out of the combined FF/IAS numbers and fixed. After that, it all needs to be put into the PFPX format.

Enjoy.
