We almost cancelled the release, but at this point we are still moving forward.

Good.  Period.

Thanks for the update Ed, and good to hear that it's back on track!

Now just ignore the rest of this thread, because within 24 hours there will probably be another one of "those guys" here to drag this thread back down through the mud...

I too am delighted to hear this news. As for this thread, I'll be keeping a very close eye on it to ensure that the same mud slinging does not occur.

At this point, here is where we stand:

We almost cancelled the release, but at this point we are still moving forward.  We have a few things to 'wrap up' before we provide access for purchase.  Unfortunately those things take a back seat to our 9-5 job (and a few other things like honey-do's etc).  So, we're working on getting a good guide on how to install the gauges into addons put together but it's going to take a little more time because of our over-inflated schedules.

Great news. That's what I wanted to hear. I you need any help to speed up release, please ask.

We are a community, but many times we don't act like one, and we let trolls and other people overrun the forums.

Ramon, I agree with you and I encourage everyone to use the REPORT button.

That's the thing with the Internet...a person with an issue can drag something on and on while the rest of the folks have to take a back seat.

I know the point about free speech etc etc, but people like that should be nipped in the bud and banned if they start to destructively labouring points to the detriment of the majority. Happens time and time again. I know Avsim is known for running a tight ship anyway, but having read some of those posts re Mindstar, those comments really were very confrontational and damaging.

Erich - as a moderator on another site, I can tell you that it can sometimes be difficult to keep up with each thread in a timely manner. It only takes a a few hours for a thread to go south. That's why Tom's post re "using the report" button is critical. Calling our attention to a southbound thread before it gets really nasty can nip this type of thing in the bud.

Numbers speak volumes and I don't mean to belabor the point:

It is a matter of simple numbers. We need everyone to help us make AVSIM a positive experience in their flight simming hobby. We could not possibly have enough moderators to monitor each and every message posted (and the stats above actually show a pretty slow period of posting). So, again, if you see something amiss, abusive, trolling or just "smells" wrong, hit the report button and that will enable us to take a look and act accordingly.

Tom is right.. A report is just that.. No good mod or admin will yell at you or look down upon you for reporting.. Unless you become habitual at it and doing it for some vendetta reason. Rare but I've seen people get out of control with reporting things in my life.  Anyway.. If you are wrong they will usually thank you for the report  (in my past experience) and will usually let you know why they didn't do anything..

It's when you start engaging the people you should be reporting is when you're just as bad as they are and punishment can be equalized between both parties..

I will say I have taken notice to the increased moderation of the Prepar3D forum. (thank you)  I  have been coming back more frequently to read here now.. For awhile there (in my humble opinion) it was unreadable since every-single-topic usually turned into the same tired discussion about a topic which shall remain un-named.. :)

It may be premature but I am wondering if the Mindstar GNS 530 software will work with this hardware from Emuteq  http://www.emuteq.com/GNS530.html as I was thinking of shifting over to P3D 2.0 when it is released. Sadly the Reality XP software will not work with P3D :-(

Chris, I foresee no reason why it wouldn't work.

Best news this week - a no-brainer-buy for me! Don't let those few discourage you guys!

This is superb news indeed!

Thank You very much for it!

Great to read that You carry on!

Looking very much forward to the release of this certainly great GNS430/530!

Cheers, Christoph

Enjoy flying and happy landings.

Glad to see that mindstar is going to release this product for P3D.  That other thread was out of control and I think some people did not understand the importance of high quality data for a addon like this.

Complainers will outpost those who are pleased 10-1. Those on the other thread, who are probably the type who yell at waiters, are not just a minority, but a very small minority. Further, how does someone have the audacity to suggest to a developer what they should charge because it's what they can afford? Hey Harley Davidson, can ya drop the price of that DynaGlide for me. Pathetic. Flight simming can be a very expensive hobby, if you don't want to step up, go back to your XBOX!
