January 21, 201412 yr I wanted to ask which weather engine do you use in FSX? I tried Opus and Active Sky 2012 before and only solution working for me was REX 3 but now it has problems also so I was thinking about if I should wait for REX 4 Weather Direct or choose the other 2 options I posted in poll. Can you tell me which one do you use and why you prefer? Büke Yolaçan
January 21, 201412 yr I cannot answer... OPUS is not in the poll. I think you should add it even if it didn't work for you. I prefer OPUS anyway. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 21, 201412 yr Commercial Member OPUS for quick VFR flights, FSGRW for JetLiner flights. Maybe I will use only OPUS for both in the future, must test it a bit more. Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

January 21, 201412 yr ASN is utterly superb! How a weather engine should be. Weather has taken on a whole new significance in FSX. Now it matters.
January 21, 201412 yr Missing the fine freeware FSRealWX on the poll (that's what I use for realtime weather), version 2 should be out in open beta any second now. - Jens Peter "Penz" Pedersen

January 21, 201412 yr A problem that couldn't be solved by either OPUS or AS2012 or REX3? What kind of a problem is that??? What happened to AVSIM
January 21, 201412 yr First of all, what is more important to you? Or, what are you most annoyed about in your current weather engine? I currently have Opus and tried the ASN demo. For me, I want a "smooth" experience from departure to destination. No wind shifts, cloud pops, and/or cloud shifts The only one that I know of that can do this is ASN. This alone is the biggest reason for me that has put ASN ahead of Opus. Opus' current product is no where close to ASN in this category. It strictly is a matter of not wanting to spend more $$ on another weather engine as to why I haven't switched. Every flight I do with Opus right now though, I'm annoyed as now I know there is something better. So, it will be just a matter of time before I get sick of being annoyed by Opus and bring out the credit card. Regards, Kevin LaMal "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" - Shapiro2024
