hmmm... what is the problem even with a demo for one week?

If the program is good, I would buy it if it ends after a week.

5x5 minutes is nothing I would call a serious offer.

No thanks! Wouldn't even try it ...

It must be hard for someone who tries to come on here and answer questions about his product to be constantly hammered about the demo period. Most programs in our hobby don't have any demo period at all. And you don't see their developers coming on the first day to try and clarify things.

The question is: he offers a demo, ok that's good. But WHY 5x5 minutes?

Let's me think he would like to hide something  :P

Yes, as I said elsewhere in another thread this is a fascinating lesson in marketing. By offering the demo they made the demo rather than the program the focus of the discussion.

Load it after fax is finished loading.

I feel that the poor customer service on this forum and that the fact that the demo is NOT long enough to do a thorough test. As texture quality and VAS are related this program might have helped, however to test the VAS you would have to arrange a flight for a few hours, up to the 4GB limit. Then fly it again with this program.

I totally don't agree that you can test this product to the point where you should be willing to pay for it with 5 min tests and expect to keep restarting it.

For me this product will go the way of the Ariane 737, Pro ATCX and all the other add-ons where the developer does not listen to the customer.

To come out with the comment "nothing can (or will be) done about it" is the sign of a totally arrogant company.

To be honest, it worked at KJFK increased the frames a bit made panning in the VC with the PMDG777 a lot smoother, but not so much at EGLL so I may not buy now, but may in future ;)

I hope BD - FSPS is still around here.

I downloaded the demo, but I can't say I was actually able to "try" the product.

1. Apparently, simply launching the executable will count itself as 1 try. If you close the window without having FSX open, you simply waste your first try.

2. Apparently the 5 minute count-down starts at the launching of the executable file, no matter whether you have an active flight in FSX or not. After 5 minutes the demo closes with a message, no matter if FSX or your flight is still loading.

I am puzzled, at the very least.

As a matter of fact I was able to try the product only once out of 5 attempts and, for the records, I did not notice any significant improvement in performance. I would be happy to do more testing, if only the demo would allow me to do so.

Am I doing something wrong or is this actually the expected behavior of the demo? No sarcasm intended, but obviously you can't expect me to spend about 30,00 EUR without testing the product.

I agree. I never even got to try it because I wasted the 5 starts trying to figure it out. I guess starting the program with the in-game FPS limiter set to unlimited disables everything in the program. I'm tech savvy and a UI designer, and I couldn't figure that out the first three times I launched the program. If you close the program before the time runs out, you lose that 5 minutes.

That is why we believe 25 minutes are enough and nothing can be (or will be) done about it...

Hey FSPS,

It is a good idea to consider this thread somewhat as a focus group.

Please listen to the voice of the customer.

I imagine FSPS is in business to make money, but this sort of attitude has really reduced your sales. If the product actually satisfies your claims of increased performance and you offer a demo that allows people to try out sufficiently, you would see a good volume of sales.  Just think, those happy customers could even be good advertisement for the product.  Unfortunately, the restrictive demo just turns people off.

Take a page from Active Sky Next, who offer a one week demo.  Plenty of people sing their praises and recommend the product to other people and they do not lose anything by offering a demo for a week.

From my standpoint, you can keep my 25 minutes of frustrating demo time and I will keep my $40.

I think after reading this thread and the other thread about the same product that FSPS should go back and look at their marketing policy. Many companies have built a reputation by listening to it's future customers, some have been buried by not.

FSPS. Your future customers have spoken. Time to go back and make a longer demo for people to try because there are many other developers that will be willing to take your place. If you have an excellent product then be brave and prove it.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

FSX for me is as good as it gets, I have spent a countless number of hours fixing and tweaking certain area's to suit my satisfaction, I'll hold off on this tool until it has satisfied a good amount of 'hardcore' simmers...

I'll wait for a review first from someone who purchased it and was able to spend sometime using it....

Lots of payware airports have a much longer tryout period. And you know what you can expect from an airport. Still you are granted a reasonable time to try it and decide whether to buy it or not.

In this case, a product is offered which promises to dramatically improve my FSX performance. How can I know whether this will work in my system or not unless I have enough time to test it? Is that hard to have the countdown simply starting when FSX is active?

A product like this simply can't be offered without allowing the customer an adequate time to test the performance improvements, if any.

Unless they change their policy in this regard, for me it's case closed.

I have net.frame 4.5.1 as well. Wish it would work with that so I could give it a try.

Regards
