October 7, 201411 yr The community needs a good paintkit and a lot of quality repainters. There are so many great repaints out there. I hope Carenado releases sp2 to fix the nagging issues.
October 7, 201411 yr Author Looking forward to this plane when it's finished. It is actually pretty nice "as is"... a lot of work has gone into this plane, and it shows. Bert
October 7, 201411 yr Commercial Member The community needs a good paintkit... Indeed. Thanks, Nick/Bert for all of your tweaks so far. My general findings, some may be repeats, some may not be fixable (i.e. model itself), but here it goes: -All panel rocker switches are too "angled", they should be shallower -EPS ON light illuminates when EPS is selected to ARMED, should only come on when it's actually on (i.e. when there is a loss of power) -Altitude Alerter, Autopilot Disconnect, Gear Horn not the ones actually on the aircraft -Assorted CAWS callouts wrong (the fire test actually made me laugh out loud) and indications missing (inert sep, etc.). -DH alert sounds twice. (Also should not play aural alert when DH is below 50' AGL on some software levels) -DG CW/CCW AHRS switches should have a neutral position -DG/SLAVE AHRS and EFIS CMPST/NORM switches don't do anything -Overhead electrical switches are the wrong type, dimensions -Landing gear lever, PCL, condition lever "slide" up and down....in reality they pivot about a center point. -EADI heading indicator does not stay attached to horizon, follows aircraft pipper around -Engine start-up could be a few seconds longer -Gear and flap actuation is way too quiet. On the real airplane, you get a nice, loud hydraulic and electric motor reminder that things are moving. -Lamp test does not perform a CAWS aural test simultaneously like it should -Avionics 1/2 switches reversed and incorrectly located -Yaw damper indicator on the mode control panel should say "YD" (not "YAW") -Pushing test on mode control panel is supposed to conduct an autopilot and audible trim test (not just a lamp test). You'll hear all the trim servos move slightly, triple trim indicator light come on momentarily, all the mode control panel lights illuminate, then if the test passes, the test light flashes (along with "AP" on the EADI) for a few seconds followed by the autopilot disconnect tone and CAWS gong. -Transition from flaps 0 to 15 should take a few seconds longer. It's noticeably long in the real aircraft. -Seat alignment visual cue triangle, located in the center, right above the glareshield is missing -We've already covered lighting/switchology -Cabin temperature indicator should not display a digital "C" - no units are displayed in the real thing, so "23 C" should really just read "+ 23" - not sure this gauge works anyway -Cabin pressurization controller doesn't seem to do anything though it has a click spot -Once the transponder flight time indicator passes one hour, say at the 63-minute mark, it'll display "1:63:00" -EIS fuel reset button does not do anything That's all for now, after one quick flight. Was able to use the aircraft after SP1. Thanks to the community again for all the tweaks; they really are making the aircraft better. October 7, 201411 yr Commercial Member Ah forgot to add one more thing: -Parking brake handle doesn't engage/animate properly. To set the parking brake, you pull the handle out and rotate 90 degrees clockwise (so the handle is horizontal). October 7, 201411 yr It works perfectly, you can turn the knob and select your altitude and it will pressurize... Does it not stick like the other planes? I hate to contemplate the idea of 'buying' bug fixes for my other aircraft but, seriously, what I'm pondering. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. October 7, 201411 yr Does it not stick like the other planes? I hate to contemplate the idea of 'buying' bug fixes for my other aircraft but, seriously, what I'm pondering. as I said no, the knob works perfectly and rotates to your desired altitude, it is not that "buggy" as people said, it's a very well done aircraft from Carenado, even better than other ones, for its first release, it doesn't have many bugs as others they've launched, but there are just minimal things that could be fixed but that doesn't means that need to stop flying it...is like a car, it works, but if you look closely you'll see some spots in the paint and little dents on it or maybe listen to small noises in the engine, but doesn't affect its performance...this is the same, you could see little things that needs to be fixed, but doesn't bother at all, honestly. But if you're EXTREMELY meticulous then you'll see everything wrong as some have complained...and is not that bad...
October 7, 201411 yr Commercial Member It works perfectly, you can turn the knob and select your altitude and it will pressurize... Hmm I wouldn't say "perfectly" as in "true to life" pressurization behavior and response. However, the controls seem to have little (if any) effect at all on my system. What are some altitude/psid numbers you are seeing? Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
October 7, 201411 yr The most "PC-12" thing that I'd like to see working on the plane is the "Tapes and Eights" test on the EIS when the TEST button is pressed.
October 7, 201411 yr It is actually pretty nice "as is"... a lot of work has gone into this plane, and it shows. I would have to agree with this.... After all it is a sim and for the price they charge we cant expect Level D software... but as is its very Carenado in a good way. This is with Bert and Nicks fixes though... Without them the a/c needs some work... I do have some issues with Carenado's glass textures on the exterior model. For some reason the cockpit side windows are too transparent (from spot view), look simlike and is just missing something...maybe some black outlining like the front glass (unrealistic I know) cuz the interior and exterior almost match in color and brightness ..... but thats just me being picky. Im not complaining though...
October 8, 201411 yr Many of the sounds can be replaced with the Flight1 version, anyone have instructions how to do this? I looked and all the sounds are spread out, some in the sound.cfg file, some in the fsx\sound folder. And as has been reported I replaced the decision height file, DH and it plays twice.
October 8, 201411 yr Those of you having trouble with setting the pressurization try switching the ECS switch to manual (MAN) mode. I thought it wasn't working when I first started flying, until I figured this out. Nick Preston

The engine sounds should all be in your aircraft sounds folder. rpm1,2,3 for internal engine sounds. xrpm for external sounds...bee also adds something to the sounds, I think. Try making a backup of that entire directory and replacing them with the flight1 files of the same name. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. October 8, 201411 yr How much of the original plane is left when all mods are applied and the sounds got replaced? ^_^ Seriously, reminds me of my JetProp which, after all, still is one of my favourites.
