None of them because it would also lock out their MS FSX customers at the same time.

Or charge extra for a Steam compatible version...

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

They could go retro; 8-bit ~4 fps.

In case these haven't been posted before, here are snippets of info from the official FSX page on Facebook:

Hi guys, great to see such enthusiasm prior to release, we have a great interview detailing much of our work on FSX: Steam Edition in the next issue of PC Pilot. Be sure to pick it up! We are just putting the finish changelog up very soon so everyone will be able to see what has been updated. Please keep an eye on our page if you are interested in reading it.

We aim bring a variety of new add-ons to FSX: Steam Edition from all around the world. We’re committed to take the world of flight simulation forward. It’s too early to discuss at this stage but we think that our actions with FSX and the add-ons demonstrate our commitment to the genre.

Your existing boxed version of FSX will continue to work after the release of FSX: Steam, however future updates will only support the Steam Edition of the simulator. We have made some functional changes to FSX in the development of FSX: Steam, but in terms of content nothing new has been added at this time. We have restored the multiplayer features using Steam capabilities and we have sorted out a number of software problems. However, we do appreciate the current benefits for existing users are modest.

The major change we've made is in replacing the now-defunct Gamespy multiplayer systems with Steam features, enabling multiplayer to work seamlessly once again. Additionally, some outstanding bugs have been resolved and we will be posting more details about them very soon. Our aim was in this first instance has been to ensure that the software will run for as many people as possible rather than radically improving or updating it.

Window 8.2 compatible.

I was thinking Windows 10 perhaps.

Only with a PC using 128bit AMD CPU's.. Not Intel as yet . It will come standard with Greenland scenery only, highly detailed airport, the well known 4Q hang glider & autumn season & dusk views only. Other scenery, aircraft & seasons will be released during 2nd quarter 2015.

I agree. It seems to be getting a bit silly.

With several quotes I've read since my last posting, I'm now less skeptical that they are going to make a new flight simulator, but I remain so about what kind of flight simulator that might be, and who it will be geared towards, and if they can do a good job with it, really.   In another topic, someone provided a press release about them hiring someone previously involved with racing simulators to head up a product department.  Some of the airheaded, non-sequiter posts in this topic notwithstanding, I see the most interesting part of this discussion has been not so much what FSX+Steam will be, but the speculation about what the next big thing might be, and if it is credible enough to actually look forward to.
