August 16, 201510 yr Super, good for you. Many people don't. I just didn't load P3D with add on's that cause OOMs. learned that many years ago with MSFS.
August 16, 201510 yr Also, does anyone know if "V3" will be compatible with the thousands of dollars worth of addons made by third party companies for P3D V2? Put it this way....if it isn't, then it's a total waste of time and money invested in improving the VAS management system so that they can be run! August 16, 201510 yr I achieve it on every flight I take. Same here, still struggling to understand how you trigger an OOM in a well configured FSX/P3D
August 16, 201510 yr Beau (LM's lead 3D engineer) had posted about v3 and v4 so lots of good things to come down the line. Cheers, Rob. could you address me to the afformentioned post about the v3, v4 roadmap? Joel Strikovsky
August 16, 201510 yr Same here, still struggling to understand how you trigger an OOM in a well configured FSX/P3D OMG, I can't stand to see you struggle so here is a quick n easy 5 step plan to OOM heaven - 1) Use 4K textures 2) Use a lot of AI 3) Use addon meshes, textures, clouds, all to the max 4) Install many payware HQ airports 5) Fly far (Preferably between areas with those payware airports) Enjoy OOM
August 16, 201510 yr 1. 1024K textures 2. I use a lot of AI 3. addon photoscenery, custom tree autogen.....clear skies 4. payware airports (mostly UK2000) installed 5. Flights barely more than 100 miles......at 3000 feet......in the PMDG 737NGX Enjoying OOMs! Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
August 16, 201510 yr Back to my original answer ... have patients Cheers, Rob. Got it in One Rob!.... and I suspect that my local 'Home For Bewildered Simmers' might just end up with a few more patients before this 'hypothetical' iteration is over! August 16, 201510 yr Same here, still struggling to understand how you trigger an OOM in a well configured FSX/P3D Me either, The highest I have ever seen my VAS is 2.7 Gigs.
August 16, 201510 yr Whether you have OOM issues or not all comes down to what settings you use, what add-ons you use and what size of textures you use. I like to think it's not any more complicated than that.
