How does this plane simply not have TCAS... this might just be the deal breaker for me to skip this :/

From what I've read this plane will lack many aspects of systems/system depths :-(

I fear that this will be another addon which has wonderful graphics and sound but not lot more.

Waiting for the IXEG, I guess.

And your source is? Where did you read this? It's great and easy to shout something on the interwebs but please back this up with hard information.

Hmmm... another "wait and see" plane.

IXEG will be a day one buy but I'm not sure for the MD80 from what I'm reading. The FMC will be the real clincher (no VNAV/SID/STAR etc, no sale).

Not entirely true. The FMC definitely has SIDs/STARs. What Schorle was referring to with "no PROG" was the missing proGress page on the FMC. Has nothing to do with proCedures.

See http://rotatesim.com/md-80-feature-list-updated/ for the features.

Thank you kind sir for that link, it appears the FMS has cost index, so realistic VNAV should be a reality.

Still I think it wise to wait for an independent review as it will be fairly pricey.

Yes Mario, the FMC does look to be more than a light version with the option to enter company routes, LNAV, some VNAV capabilities, VIA TO route page...etc.

That's true. I'm sure there will be a lot of reviews soon. (I can only speak for the German-language FS MAGAZIN: we'll have one, but as we only are bi-monthly, it will be in early 2016. Well, and it's not in English, so quite irrelevant for the English-speaking community...).

I think he's basing it off of another forum where this project has been discussed.

Doesn't sound like it'll be long before you can plunk the money down and tell everyone for us though, Glenn. :)

Well I am waiting for this one I tell you, the bloody Jar a320 is crap! Pathetic simulation of an Airbus.

I can understand the lack of a HLD page in the initial release, as the underlying programming for that function is quite complex - but I'm puzzled as to why there would be no PROG page, as all the information necessary to display current and next waypoints, and time and fuel at destination should be readily available within the running code of the FMS if is at all functional.
