December 3, 201510 yr Well, that's first heavy metal aircraft I am actually very interested in (unless DC-3 can count? :Raised Eyebrow:) flying. Newer Boeing/Airbus productions just lack soul for me, and seems like Rotate was able to capture the feel of MD-80 just perfectly. An instabuy for me. Extremely excited. plus 1!
December 4, 201510 yr Stunning ! Hope I haven't forgotten all what I've learned with the FSX Maddog... Stephane Location : FMEE
December 5, 201510 yr If the pics do it any justice,This has A1 Quality stamped all over it!!! I'm IN!!!! 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
December 5, 201510 yr Most definitely a day one purchase for me! Also the ATS MD-80 looks like a day one purchase too! Now, where is that IXEG 737 I am so desperately waiting for?
December 5, 201510 yr We'll certainly be flying the Rotate before the IXEG. I think IXEG need a bit more time to finish up. We've waited this long, might as well be patient. I remember flying the Leonardo and that was a fantastic simulation. Rotate looks to be headed in the same direction, just hoping the FMC/FMS is a high standards affair and not a dumbed down job, we've been accustomed to in X-Plane.
December 5, 201510 yr I have two sims, P3D and X-Plane 10. The Leonardo Maddog was my all time favorite add-on in FSX, and I have missed it a lot, so this will be a day-one purchase, as will the IXEG version when it comes out. One cannot have too many MD's! December 5, 201510 yr I'm sure I read that Rotate plane to go a step further than the Leonardo Maddog? If I find the post I will quote it on here. I want a complex simulation of the MD80, Rotates MD looks like it will deliver that. The FMS/FMC looks more on the lines of PMDG which I like! Integrating the door functions into the computer system, instead of having to access the top default X-Plane menu to open/close the doors. I hope payload, cargo and fuel can be set via the FMC too! As long as 99.9% of the buttons and switches are functional and do what they do in the real aircraft, then I'm sure this will be on the lines of one of the most complex airliners to fly in X-Plane next to FJS' boeing aircraft.
December 6, 201510 yr Excellent. I'll finally have a decent plane instead of having to fly a B777-200LR on short-haul routes.
December 6, 201510 yr I've been watching this development for a long time as well, and haven't been this excited about a release in a long time! I used to fly The Mad Dog in 2004 and FSX, before I converted to X-plane a couple of years ago, so this will be such a treat to have it in our hangers! Best, Jeff
December 6, 201510 yr Most definitely a day one purchase for me! Also the ATS MD-80 looks like a day one purchase too! Now, where is that IXEG 737 I am so desperately waiting for? The 737 is coming... but it will most likely be beaten to release by this nice MD-80. And then take a bit longer, still, because I am busy flying the MD-80  ! Cheers, Jan
December 6, 201510 yr Commercial Member This purchase page just popped up! http://store.x-plane.org/Rotate-MD-80_p_441.html $59.95 is the final price. EDIT: Well, I guess they weren't ready. Page just taken offline. Founder of X-Aviation
December 6, 201510 yr if the reviews hold up to the expectations than this price is a real bargain and it will take a lot of convincing for me to justify the pricetag of the upcomming 767 if it is priced similar to the 757/777.
