December 7, 201510 yr I purchased the MD-80 and must say it's a great aircraft. Hope they continue with McDonnell Douglas and make a MD-11 next. Edited out comments. I can't seem to get more than 6 FPS out of the loaded aircraft. I'm trying to work out solutions. Cheers, Mitch
December 7, 201510 yr Commercial Member Looking for info on how the systems work and if they work. Will it autoland and follow a complex flight plan ? Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. Be sure to check out my aged cockpits for the A2A B-377, B-17 and Connie at Flightsim.com and Avsim library
December 7, 201510 yr Bought it but haven't left the ground yet. I would say it seems quite FPS-friendly. Can't wait to get it up in the air! Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
December 7, 201510 yr She a beautiful plane, but I can not use it. It puts a Rotate Plug-in in the plug-in menu, and I don't know if that is incompatible with my other plug ins...but I load it up...and can only get 2-5 FPS, no matter what. I have taken the sim right down to default in all graphics, and still, I can only get no better than 5-6 FPS when the plane is loaded and I am in the cockpit. So, for me...I probably will not try another high-demand (system demand) aircraft. This will be an expensive plane that sits in the hangar. How others are getting great FPS, beats me. This is the only plane, that I have ever bought, that I could not run on my system. I'll keep trying to see what is causing such horrible FPS performance, but other than that, it's a beautiful ground door hanger. If anybody has any suggestions, other than turning down the sim (have already tried that...) then I am all ears. For those getting 25 or greater FPS, to you have RTH as a plug in...any lua scripts, etc? Ses Post Edit: Even with turning off HDR, and dumming down the sim to practically nothing, i can only bring the plane's FPS output, to 10 FPS. To anyone that is flying this thing..please post a screen shot of your rendering screen. Thanks... I have also had many TDR video crashes, since having the plane load into the sim. Never had this before. Just a whole host of problems. I'll try to read on the Rotate Forum, for help... Obviously, greatly bummed out...
December 7, 201510 yr Video of a flight Uhm .... something doesn't look right: I seem to remember that, before takeoff, vertical and lateral modes are supposed to read "TAK OFF"; I see something else in this video. For reference, look at this: https://youtu.be/zGN_iT2QEb4?t=29 Andrea

Ses, just a hunch - but have you compared your VRAM usage to what your graphics card provides? If you get close to your limit the FPS usually goes down the drain as the slower system memory has to jump in... Jan
December 7, 201510 yr Obviously, greatly bummed out... If Im not mistaking you had a similor problem with SMP . best of luck i7 4777k 4.6mhz, 32gddr3, GTX 760 4g sci ,Saitek x52,yoke and quadrant, 60 Led . SSD
December 7, 201510 yr Obviously, greatly bummed out... If Im not mistaking you had a similor problem with SMP . best of luck I was waiting for that...you win the bottle of coke...and thanks... It's my VRAM limit of 2GB I gather. So anybody else have a 2GB card? You'd better pass....unless it comes on sale, and you want it for a later update....
December 7, 201510 yr If it´s really the VRAM, have you tried lowering your "texture resolution" in the "rendering settings" screen?
December 7, 201510 yr Ses, just a hunch - but have you compared your VRAM usage to what your graphics card provides? If you get close to your limit the FPS usually goes down the drain as the slower system memory has to jump in... Jan Yes..just came off of the forum...and you can not run this plane with a video card, with less than 4GB of VRAM onboard. They should post that as a warning on their purchase page. So...until I replace my GTX680 2GB card...I will have to just look at it sitting in the hanger... but now use. Since I don't intend to replace anytime soon.....for others...enjoy...but be warned....you need more than 2GB's on your card! If it´s really the VRAM, have you tried lowering your "texture resolution" in the "rendering settings" screen? Thanks for all your replies Janov...much appreciated. I have dummed down the sim to the likes of something I would never use it as...and only can get 10 FPS and stutter. I do believe it's my card...2GB's...and will just write this off to a lesson learned. I obviously will not be buying anything high end such as PMDG, until I replace my card with a 4-6 GB'er...
December 7, 201510 yr Ok, I am sorry to hear that. Usually lowering the "texture resolution" will be enough to bring VRAM usage down really quick (together with "compress textures"), you should even be able to leave everything else on your normal settings... I wouldn´t go as far as writing the purchase off - I have the impression that the devs are very responsive, and making a "lighter" version is probably a matter of days, not weeks. The Saab340 had a similiar problem, and then one of their updates added the choice of smaller textures and everyone got on board again. PLUS you will benefit of some bugs getting fixed while you save yourself frustration, hopefully! Jan
December 7, 201510 yr C'mon Ses, get a Titan. Like my wife says, "It's only money. You can make more."
December 7, 201510 yr Someone on the org forums mentioned you can use a program to reduce the textures to 2048 or 1024 textures. you could always do it yourself...grab GIMP online for free and just youtube on how to resize images. Just resize by powers of 2 for x plane. So take a 4096 x 4096 texture down to 2048 x 2048 . If that doesn't work try 1024 From EGFF to YSSY
