Prepar3D v3.2 is out !

Luis,

Sorry but I call bs. ASN is not working for me and assume many others.

With regards to sgss it needs to be used either 2x or 4x I am running 2 titans sc

In sli tested in heavy dense clouds with minimal 1 to 2 fps drop in pmdg 777

Unless you have a 4K then in that case you don't need sgss

I loaded ASN first and then ran P3D.  I did not get any error messages and saw a normal weather depiction.  I'll double check again.  It seems like others are not getting ASN working either.

Aware of it, and prepared early on.. but not ready after 3 days... If they prepared early on, they should have released it the same day, but yet there's nothing around. For a commercial product (because ASN isn't free) I expect a better support.

Some people here need to discover the virtues of patience.  It's not that the release of P3D v3.2 automatically erased or crippled the previous version. Simply wait with double-clicking on the v3.2 installer until all add ons you want have been made compatible. I will be having tons of fun the coming days with the Aerosoft Airbus above FTX Norway in ASN skies or the RealAir Legacy with the GTN 750 or whatever else I've got: it's still working perfectly fine. Why the hurry and the moaning, people... be happy the sim is being updated.

ASN doesn't work in 3.2 .. we're waiting for the update: http://www.hifisimtech.com/forums/showthread.php?5768-Prepar3D-version-3-2-is-out&p=28559&viewfull=1#post28559

@mikey: it's not because you have a 4k you don't need SGSS.. it all depends by the DPI (so by the size of the monitor).. I'm at 1600p and I "need" it because I use a 30" screen.

ASN have always been very prompt in the past with updates, 3 days is insignificant and many of us never complain about the A1 support afforded to the community from such developers, and why!! simply because its free and they are not obligated to provide compatible updates because ASN was originally sold for FSX and not P3d. So really the support from Hifi Sim is outstanding in my view and if it takes 2 weeks i'm more than happy to wait.

Indeed.. but after a while you fall in the frustration. It's not because ASN, but as I mentioned already, it looks like that some people out there didn't realized that we are customers and if you count one by one all those addons, they will end to costs a lot of money.

Recently I have been on Aerosoft forum section, and asked them why I lose the audio when I switch to a second monitor (even by having the audio option correctly set in p3d) and they replied that is because of how p3d works (!) .. so I asked them to check the PMDG's product and to notice that they overcome the issue someway (I do not lose the audio with the 737 in example) .. and you know what? Chaps there started to talk about the fact that the aerosoft products are "cheaper" and so I shouldn't pretend much... and then they closed the thread marked it as "resolved".

Do you understand from where my frustration comes from? ... sorry for the OT.

I don't mind waiting for updates.

apart from a little issue with gsx not working it seems I need to install content thou I do not want to reinstall.

which apparently it has to do with p3d not an FSDT issue which I was hoping for a update by fsdt to resolve it.

I am finding too like others that the SGSS has to be used at least with my system. I tried everything, even different drivers to see if I

could get away with not using it, but without it the panel shimmering was not acceptable. I would sure like to know what some of you are using that allows you to not have to use the SGSS.

Officially retired

Finally got P3D 3.2 working last night after a couple of days ping ponging emails back and forth to LM licensing (due to bug in their subscription licensing process).

Disabled objectflow until Orbx sort it out. Not tried ASN yet - am assuming it won't work until update.

Love the waves. AT LAST some movement in the ocean. Wish we could slow them down though. Way to fast animation for my liking.

Otherwise looking very nice especially the extra autogen.

P3D noob here, can you guys tell me what SGSS is? and where do I find it?

Thanks

Look at post #314. That's most likely the issue. You could also try to load with clean dll.xml / exe.xml but be aware that there are two locations to look at for those files.

If this does not work proceed as suggested in post #308

Thanks! Seems it's something in either the dll.xml or exe.xml, will have to dig to determine what entry.

At least now the simple loads!

for who of you that did not have low level clouds, it seems, on my part, that rex 4 is the problem.

Reinstalling the content again will bring back the clouds in sim. I suppose the default ones.

Pablo,

I ran into this same problem last night.  After updating content and scenery, I loaded REX4 clouds.  Low level clouds were visible with HDR off, when I turned HDR on the clouds completely disappeared.  I then deleted shaders, created new .cfg, reinstalled REX clouds again, and same thing, however this time there were no clouds with HDR off or on.

Looks like I'll take your suggestion to re-install default clouds.  Thanks for posting your findings.

I was in the very same situation always finding how I really needed SGSS to get the kind of IQ I was looking for. However since replacing FSX with P3D SGSS was not an option anymore due to the issue with extremely low performance in dense clouds with SGSS enabled.

I "solved" the issue by getting myself a good 4K screen able to deliver 4K @ 60 Hz. Now I don't use SGSS anymore. Honestly I still do see some shimmering and bad AA in some situations but all in all I think it's OK.

Looking at the performance though you'll need a good graphics card for 4K. I'm using a single 980 Ti and this gives me the performance I need to be happy using the add-ons I like such as the Orbx global products, ASN live weather etc and doing all my flying in the NGX to and from large payware airports online on Vatsim.

FSPassengers is currently not working with 3.2   It will be updated within one week.

I upgraded last night and, after an initial test flight, found problems other than the incompatibilities already discussed.  Shadows subjectively look better, but I don't know if it's just confirmation bias.   AA definitely looks better on my setup.  (23" monitor, 1080p)

OH NO!  I updated the "Client" only and after I click no to Object Flow, now my beloved P3D crashes, and shuts off. Very nice. I guess I'll wait for ORBX to update Objectflow, and if it still crashes I'm afraid I will need a clean reinstall of everything.

Checked the error logs, and I also saw an error about  'ai player' crashing. Not sure what is that or where is it. Online I read something about Vancouver add on  and also about Ai traffic.. I don't have any 3rd party ai traffic, nor Vancouver Add on.

Perhaps someone can provide some guidance here.

See this thread, perhaps?

Sparse Grid Super Sampling - it is a setting in Nvidia Inspector that helps to stop texture shimmering on certain objects (particularly fences and slender poles in the distance, but also buildings).
