April 10, 201610 yr Too bad that there is no more news about the 747-400 V2.Otherwise there was every month any news

April 12, 201610 yr A quiet forum means that there is no news to post, it also means that the team is hard at work. Patience is the most valuable thing in this hobby and perhaps in aviation too. Remember guys the 747-400v2 will be in our simulators and the wait will be worth it. The 747-400 is a VERY complex machine and replicating it for the simulators is A LOT of hard work and long hours to produce. We all want the 747-400v2, but it's best for the team to take their time and craft their new virtual toy for us. In the mean time guys, fly the 777-200LR/300ER until our new virtual toy is released. Sorry PMDG, although I understand that you guys are confronted with a lot of work but I do not agree with the lack of information. Where is the problem to tell people how the status quo of your work is for instance: the software is still in the beta-phase....etc.... Arrogance is not the way to create comprehension about your project. There are a lot of friends of mine who are flightsim enthusiasts like I am. We all bought every software made by PMDG and we are satisfied. On the other hand we all are very angry about what's happening at present time. I give you guarentee: You will loose a lot of prestige you have been built up in the past. with kind regards Bernd Schwarz
April 12, 201610 yr Where is the problem to tell people how the status quo of your work is for instance: the software is still in the beta-phase....etc.... There is no change since last update, still not in beta. What can I say?? Dan Downs KCRP
April 12, 201610 yr There is no change since last update, still not in beta. What can I say?? Okay Sir, with your reply I am satisfied now. Thank you very much and good work for the future. We still believe in you!!!! cheers Bernd Schwarz
April 12, 201610 yr Commercial Member Gents, Yup. I see him every day at the office. ...and at the sim center. Occasionally at the hangar... but clearly not enough of the hangar lately. Poking fun aside, I am around. Right now we are just absolutely killing ourselves to wrap up the 747 for you all. The product is just gloriously magnificent- but she isn't quite done yet so we will keep working until we feel she is ready. (Which could be, literally, any day.) I decided to take a bit of a break from the forum because the constant abuse was burning me out. I would post something interesting, and I'd get a face full of demands, lectures about how I should run PMDG, lectures that I was "hyping" the 744 and other forms of really tiring behavior. I was also growing weary of having to don a striped shirt and hand out more yellow cards than a football ref in a drama-club-football-league. And in the real world I had my personal physician start a conversation with: "We need to run some tests." (That brought 3 months of really good times... just to get a clean bill of health in the end... not fun- i don't recommend it!) The humor tank ran dry, so- I decided to take a break. Like you guys, I'm human- and while 99% us that are using this forum really enjoy one another's company- the 1% can really wear you thin, sometimes... I think you all have seen it and you know what I'm talking about. I don't enjoy having to play the stern overlord. It wears me out. It sucks the life out of me. Those of you who have met me in person often remark that I very much like to laugh and engage in a way that is personal and direct. Rather than play overlord, I'd much rather sit around here and chat about things we all love, like airplanes, flying techniques, simming, general-life-lessons learned through flying.... When my tank of tolerance and humor runs out- I occasionally take a break to recharge. It just happened to coincide with a period when we are wrapping up development on a major project. (Cue the know-it-alls telling me what i SHOULD have done... :Shame On You: ) The 747 is really a magnificent product and would probably exceed your expectations in her current form- but she doesn't exceed ours yet. When she does- We will let you have her. But not before. Just like every other product we release. Okay- so a few notables that actually made me laugh-out-loud in this thread: Pete Osborn: "Soon." I nearly shot coffee through my nose. THAT, sir- was good old fashioned funny! i love a joke that makes you think. John Price: Thanks for the "suave" compliment- but truth be told- when you see me out and about the airport I am in one of two uniforms. Dress Uniform is...well...a uniform. Casual Uniform is a Hawaiian shirt and a straw hat. I have about 30 Hawaiian shirts and a half dozen straws- and I'd wear them year round if I could get away with it. (Aaron can back me up on that...) Bogdan Misko: Spark plugs. Damn right... We're gonna be changing all 56 next month... my knuckles get sore just thinking about it.... Bernd: Wow. It must take some effort to be that much of a dick. Yup. Apparently the humor tank still needs more recharging. Okay- back to debugging a messaging issue I created while trying to add some interesting options to the fuel system in the 744/748.... One of these days I will learn not to do that.... Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com

Almost every Flight Simulator add on is very tricky to work with. If I recall when the NGX was in development, RSR stated that he had to go through thousands of pages just to verify that everything is working correctly. PMDG will NOT lose prestige just because they are not posting on the forum, they are hard at work perfecting the 747-400v2 for all of us to enjoy.

Hi Robert, I just read your posting with great pleasure. Obviously you are a guy with good humour. I enjoyed very much. LOL By the way it didn't take so much effort as you assume. LOL Anyway continue the good work!!! We all press our thumb that 747-400 v2 will be released as soon as possible. Greatings from Germany!! with kind regards Bernd Schwarz

Here's how you handle that: RSR: "Kyle, we've created a new position for you" Kyle: "Great what will I be doing" RSR: "Community Relations and Communications Administration Officer" (cough cough, whispers under breath) "forum moderator" Steve McNitt
April 13, 201610 yr Yup. Apparently the humor tank still needs more recharging. HAHAHAHA.... glad to see you about. Go wear one of those shirts, drink a pina colada, and kick your feet up in front of your computer for a while. If you have enough pina coladas, the 747 may spawn a 6th engine! Thanks for dropping in and saying hi sir. Let me guess.... you want 64bit. Josh Daniels-Johannson

I do really look forward to support your hard work here  . Also happy with all the support in your forums that extends way above flightsim expectations. Now the statement above is the first time i recall a small door opening from Robert (or a mistake perhaps  ) Seems we are getting closer Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
April 13, 201610 yr Robert, you have thirty (30) Hawaiian shirts? What, are you some kind of "Magnum P.I." buff or something? Matthew Bellette

I give you guarentee: You will loose a lot of prestige you have been built up in the past. with kind regards Bernd Schwarz What exactly makes you feel that you're entitled to more information about their products in development? Just because PMDG sells a software product and runs a website, a forum and a Facebook page, doesn't mean that they have to share information about their unreleased products. Take a look at a different industry - the automotive industry, for example: They show hardly anything until the official reveal or release of a new car. Instead of complaining and asking for more, we should be happy with the glimpses that we and the beta testers get - especially because we can count on the fact that the finished product will be outstanding.
