This is actually incorrect. There are some compatibility issues with using older versions, but newer versions work just fine. If you have issues, please contact me directly and I'll assist you.

I installed Spotlight today again and deactivated all other addons in the dll.xml and exe.xml. P3D crashes at startup with spotlight enabled. The error report refers to dxgi.dll. I use PTA shaders. Thus, unfortunately, it still does NOT work. At least not with the PTA profile I use.

Regards,

Chris

Send me a PM with your profile and the PTA shader version (and link if possible so I can download). We'll resolve this.

Highly doubt its PTA - do you have a problem when not using PTA ?

I've experimented with the ENB stuff and I can confirm it does work with Spotlights & the A320. I originally thought it doesn't work because of this forum post, and I already have the latest version of Reshade (It hasn't been updated since April). The CTDs didn't come from the Reshade DLLs, but from the Mastereffect shader suite.

My method is:

1) Get the latest version of Reshade (the main download button, Reshade+Framework) from http://reshade.me/ and chuck the contents of the zip file into FSX's root directory.

2) Rename Reshade32.dll to D3D9.DLL for DX9 Users, and DXGI.DLL for DX10 users.

3) Get the latest version of Mastereffect Reborn from http://reshade.me/forum/shader-presentation/161-mastereffect-reborn-official-thread

4) Copy the contents of the Mastereffect zip to the FSX root folder, replacing Reshade.fx

5) Find a good Mastereffect preset from https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/game/136/

6) Rename the downloaded preset file to MasterEffect.h and replace the one in FSX's root folder.

I haven't tested SweetFX yet, I'll do that later and report.

Quick question everyone about the FSL, the "expedited" button on the MCP (Sorry I am using Boeing terms I am still new to Airbus) works, right?

I've not tried it but I'm sure if it works in the particular MSN they have modelled it will work -- however, it's non-functional in many real A320s and I think the more recent ones don't have it at all. I think it led to a few low-speed events IRL and a lot of airlines got a bit leery about its use.

Thanks. Heard over liveatc.net a request for expedited climb and the button doesn't work in the AS Airbus. If IRL it doesn't work then the pilots set a lower speed and pull the altitude button for open climb?

The A320 requires another FSLabs addon called Spotlights

Not true you don't need spotlights for the a320 if  you don't  want  to, just works  just as  fine  without  it

I've found this downloadable (for a price) reference quite useful as I've learned the A320: http://www.utem.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=18

Amazing! Thanks for pointing this book out.

Just purchased it. Simply outstanding work... highly recommended if you want to learn (about) the Airbus A320 systems and procedures.

Works on the FSL bus (just tested in flight).

But, as mentioned, not the safest feature to use in the real world. (You wouldn't open descend down to 1.000 ft AGL IRL, either.)

EXP is marked INOP on the Busses our guys fly. Expedited climbs and descents are usually done by selecting OP CLB or DES and winding down or up the speed manually to get a better V/S. Interestingly in the USA it's very common to 'Climb via SID' or Descend via STAR' where you dial the FCU to the highest or lowest altitude and let the aircraft manage the vertical profile with any level offs in between. Indeed, you'll see us do this in the PMDG 777 Cadet Program which is based mostly in the US.

In the UK, ATC would get very nervous with this as they would see that the altitude in the FCU window (reported by your transponder) would be different to your cleared altitude, even though technically the aircraft would level off in between. BA for example, use OP CLB and DES pretty much all the time, dialling the FCU altitude to the next SID or STAR altitude as you get to it, in the old school way.

Thx  just noticed   and  you need  to uninstall the previous  a320  and  reinstall the new  version
