November 8, 20169 yr Me and my big mouth! All was well until I tried to save a change of default aircraft...You know what comes next, P3D crashed(fatal error) I though I had that one licked and expect to see it raise it's ugly head again. Doh! doh! and double doh! Reverting to the previous version didn't cure it. Back to FSX, at least there aren't any updates. Isn't it fun to be the first to install a hot "fix" and then to have to fix what just got broken. ?

November 8, 20169 yr ORBX ObjectFlow updated. Run P3d and the new version of ObjectFlow will install automatically before the sim restarts. Just installed hotfix and ran P3D as you suggested. Apparently the ObjectFlow was not automatically updated in that I got the ObjectFlow not compatible message. I also check on ORBX for an indication that the ObjectFlow had been updated and didn't see any indications of an update as yet. So, your's updated??? Danny Danny
November 8, 20169 yr Those who do not learn by their past experiences and are condemned to scramble for the working version. I have not done any update to my p3d since V3.3 and I'm enjoying simming like never before. You know that little saying: "If it's not broken........ ? ........ Don't try hard to break it. " LoL
November 8, 20169 yr It would be nice if the addon developers would receive the updates 5 days before they were released just like Apple does with a new version of the IOS. Certainly the updates would be received with more enthusiasm.
November 8, 20169 yr First check your OS build (Settings\System\About). If you have the latest version, it should say '1607' next to 'Version' and '14393.351' next to 'OS Build'. If you do then it's fairly certain that you have .NET 4.6.2 installed. To double check, open Registry Editor (Click Start, type 'regedit') and browse to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full On the right, find 'Release' and read the number in the bracket. If you have the Anniversary Edition then it should read '394802'. That means you have .NET Framework 4.6.2. Hi, I have to say that this is so much easier in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I too read about the .Net Framework 4.6.2 pre-requisite before installing the latest P3D Client. I don't feel any compelling reason right now to update P3D from 3.4.9.18400, but thought I would update .Net Framework anyway. So, I checked Programs and Features to confirm the current installed version is 4.6.1. Then downloaded 4.6.2 (offline installer) from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344 Installed 4 6.2 and verified this was successful in Programs and Features. All done in 5 mins flat. BTW, the P3D full installer will install .Net Framework 4.6.2 automatically if necessary, but who in there right mind wants to go down that route again just to install an update?! Regards, Mike
November 8, 20169 yr I will staying with 3.3.5. Hotfix does not appear to address the VAS issues. I went back to v3.3.2 Runs fine...no crashes...from take-off to landing. Nothing in this hotfix...for me as well. I did install the latest 4.6.2 Netframe. That can't hurt! So, all is good. I'm slightly confused about the .NET package. I have Win10 Home x64. I have the anniversary edition (build 1607). When I look under control panel, the highest version of .NET I have is 4.6.1. Additionally when I click on the link in the first post, Win 10 is NOT shown as compatible for 4.6.2 .exe. My questions is 1) If 4.6.2 is part of the anniversary edition, how come it is not listed control panel? I'd rather not attempt a patch and have the system corrupted. If anyone can answer I'd appreciate it. Thanks. There are two links...one works...takes you to the 4.6.2 download and install. I just finished installing it...no problems...no crashes of the system. November 9, 20169 yr No and please do not publicly ask someone to send it to you. It is a copyright violation and against Avsim TOS. LM only keeps the latest version available, it's up to you to backup earlier versions. Vic I did not ask for anything... and the client file without a proper license is useless anyway so.... I paid for my license and the logic would imply LM to still offer earliest build in case people have issues so there is nothing wrong with my question. too much, too soon....
November 9, 20169 yr New version new crashes? Very bad... I am in 3.4.9 before Hotfix without any problems. José Fco. November 9, 20169 yr LM should put a warning on any new version or hotfix that clearly tells the user to make sure they have a backup of their current Install before installing any update. This happens every time and people get screwed when they install the update, and then can't get back to something that works. The worst part of this hotfix, is I have not read one person telling us about any improvement they see after installing it.
November 9, 20169 yr With 3.4.9, I had a dramatic rise in VAS usage over 3.3.5, and regular OOMs during VFR GA flights with conservative settings. There were no improvements with a client only install of 3.4.14, so I rolled back with a full install of 3.3. And without being able to use my old Orbx installers, OUCH!! But 3.3.5 was stable and I never OOM'ed with my settings, so guess I'll hope for an improvement in 3.5. <p>Dassault Falcon, Lear, Embraer and Challenger and Cessna Mechanic.Broadcasting live from former Soviet Missile Silo.Rhys Legge
November 9, 20169 yr Would a new flightsim platform see the daylight in the future that would be able to compete with P3D I wouldn't hesitate for a split second to ditch P3D and especially LM. +1. Especially since one can get the impression that LM really doesn't care about us casual simmers (which was always known but was less apparent until the recent OOM problems with v3.4). They keep optimizing the sim for professional use and introduce feature after feature which is completely useless for us, but seems to introduce new problems. I would also be more than happy to switch to another sim. I just started to use X-Plane a couple of month ago and I think it looks promising. Let's see what X-Plane 11 will bring...
