Personally I am in love with the new haze. It just adds so much realism to the sim. Unlike Xp10, the atmospheric effects of Xp11 gives you a feeling of fullness. Xp10 atmosphere always looked like a vacuum to me. Present of no haze and zero atmospheric effects in Xp10 was my biggest gripe with the sim. I just hope that they add a slider for haze effects to satisfy everyone and not permanently get rid of it.

Thanks. But nothing new or useful there for where I want to fly. Seems I am stuck with empty airports unless I start flying somewhere else. Maybe I should only use XP for short scenic flights around those good looking big airports (of which I would like to have a list btw) and for night flying (if I can find a way to load flightplans). Too much is missing and too much I can't get done (probably mainly because I am completely new to XP  ).

Where do you like to fly? Maybe some of us will populate some your empty airports :)

I've naturally focused on my local area as I'm sure many others have.  It actually doesn't take too long to populate a small GA airport and submit it. Maybe you could look into trying out the WED (World EDitor) program and see if you might like to populate some airports yourself? I go through periods where I actually find that more fun than flying the sim. Then again I might be a little odd ;)

Well. I am really liking the beta so far. Have stellar performance. One thing gets to me though. I can't get the throttles to work. I have a Saitek throttle quadrant and have it calibrated and set to the corresponding axis in "settings", however when I try to actually fly nothing happens when I use the levers?

Is there a way tp move the view up when using TrackIR. The main part of my screen is filled with the panel: I'd like to sit higher by default. Is that possible?

I've always used X-Camera to do this and other stuff, but it doesn't seem to work properly with V11. I'll try it again today and report back.

Reporting back!  Use X-Camera and leave the "Enable TrackIR......." checked on the graphics setting screen.  In XPX, you had to turn off the TrackIR in the settings to get it to work.  X-Camera still works!

It may be the problem I ran into: the current Beta 11 is very aggressive about grabbing USB inputs and assigning them for you. And it doesn't tell you if there are two controls assigned to the same function; it just stops those things from working.

Go into joystick settings and check every controller to make sure nothing is assigned to throttle, then make a manual assignment for the Saitek throttle. Also if "Throttle" doesn't work as an assignment, try "Throttle 1." Do this inside the plane (the little sliders icon on the top right), because it may crash if you try it from the main menu Settings.

Yup. Set everything to Throttle1, Prop1 and Mixture1 and it works. I wonder how this will work while flying multiple-engined aircraft thought (was in the cessna)

EDIT: Well.. as suspected that didn't work at all. Hmm. Might have to file a bug about this...?

deleted by O.P. :)  Wasn't correct answer.

Can you tell me how to assign the reversers on either the keyboard or joystick or saitek quadrant? thank you

On the Saitek quadrant when you put the throttle lever all the way down, that is actually assigned as a button. Look on the button column to the right and assign it thrust reverser.

I don't think anybody wants to get rid of it...but we want a gradient slide.  A good G.U.I. aspect would be: the default is in the middle of the slide.  To the left is haze reduction. To the right is greater-than-default.  That would suit ever user....

If you have a visual representation of your quadrant...merely see what number the button or control/lever you want to assign reverse thrust...and then run down the menu to that feature and assign it.  Then press save or ok..whatever it is.  Now, that  RT will be assigned to that control.

I tried that a few times already and it doesn't work. I tried hol the reversers at max and also toggle the reversers and NOTHING. That's the only thing I'm missing

That's the way I have it on XP 10 but it doesn't seem to work in XP11 beta.

Mainly Norway, but that is also due to Orbx FTX Norway and the Airports of Norway freeware. I doubt if you can reach that level with WED. ;)

Interesting, I'll put that on my list of addons to check out. ;)

I'm having the same issue. I can assign it to throttle 1 or throttle 2 and it works. I can't just assign it to throttle and have it work.

I´ve downloaded the Beta and have issues with missing scenery files up north (+64+023), only water at BIKF. Installer hangs for eternity at „Scanning 96618 of 96618 files“.

There is a lot of quality stuff out there for X-Plane. And a lot of it is freeware/donationware. See here:
