Most releases are beta. In fact to me EZd has always been a beta program. Crappy support. I had to go on Youtube when I needed to upgrade to P3D the various versions. Skulking around the F1 forums seeing if there is the latest update. Then start sequence. Then the stupid pressing the key to move and set the camera. What a mess. Chase Plane even in beta is intuitive and integrates seamlessly with P3D. The function to autostart with P3D also has an automatic update for the software. Choosing cameras is fantastic. After you set your keys, move in cab or out, hit the plus sign on the interface, name the camera and quickly off to the next camera position. EzD is not even close. I'll never go back.

Can it be run without an Internet connection?

+1 Lenny...but Ez is only 13 bucks I will buy it and install on a lazy weekend. Sometimes I go back to Opus cam for something different.

Haven't tried it. Always fly online with active weather conditions.

Is it possible to keep EZDOK v1 as a separate install that isn't messed up by a V2 install  just  in case v2 doesn't work out?  There enough folks posting with v2 issues to make me cautious.

I am going to wait until the smoke clears on this one too. Turns me off that the first thing you have to do is uninstall the present version. 

I've got to say, this new version 2 is pretty darn sweet, I'm loving it!!! And it's incredibly easy to use, even if you don't speak Russian. It gets 2 thumbs up from me!!

 

That being said, it only cost me 12 bucks so why the heck not try it right, I'll probably still give Chase Plane a shot as well because I want to help support Those guys too, they do some cool stuff.

Some like me only fly with an internet connection. ie online weather. Have a very stable Gigabit fiber connection here, so very rare to not have internet.  To some, not having internet could be a problem.

Are there presets for the ground and air effects you can use for different aircrafts? I think it would take weeks to set up all the profiles again that you have stored in v1.

As far as I know you can just rename your old EZCA folder or disable it in the exe.xml. If anything goes wrong, you can go back easily. Make a Backup of your camera.cfg to be sure. At least that's what I will do.

I actually didn't.  Heh...didn't read the message right.  Worked fine.  I had to edit my exe.xml, that's all.  Works fine so far.  But waiting until the smoke clears is always a good idea. 

 

I would suggest re-naming the EZCA folders in c:/program files (x86) and more importantly c:/users/(username)/Appdata/roaming to retain the old version 1

 

The exe.xml entry for v1 should be removed when using v2

 

If reverting to v1 -delete the v2 entry

the ez config tool would add the correct v1 back in the first time you run the v1 config tool

 

The cameras.cfg file is the same -apart from the title name - again the ezconfig tool for v1 actually deletes the existing EZCA definitions and adds them back in each time the ez config tool is run so the v1 titles would appear on screen

The problem is that this setting does not get saved

 

I need to re input a manouvre to the hatswitch every time which is funny as as you can see below it do remember my configuration.

Maybe its related to some user rights? will check with Windows 10.

 

 

and btw . There is a section called internet Help with video instructions in russia but with english subtitltes - really nice btw

regards using - hat as button - did a test setup - used update camera - did a full restart of sim and the setup still worked

 

 

I'm using both a pre-release build and currently released build of win 10 in testing and it works OK under both

 

plus no more stupid appcrash reports that need clearing up periodically - seems to be gone with ezdok v2

Every thing is fine now after running the program as a administrator.

 

Great the world camera also works fine again :-)
