FSLabs A320 for P3D - so is it worth it?

Recommended Posts

If you have your route selected correctly and have a TOD visible, then you can look at the altimeter within your PFD and you should see a magenta doughnut .That is your vertical path marker.. It will be in the center as you start your descent and the aim is to keep it as near to center as possible. Handy to know if you need to squirt a little speedbrake in on your descent. Another option as you mentioned is to select the PROG page in your FMGC and this will show deviation from vertical path.

Thanks :-)

Also, waypoint altitude/speed constraint circle is displayed in magenta color on the ND if  the constraint is reachable with current path parameter (managed descent).

If it's not reachable with managed descent, then the color turns amber.

Circle color is white when managed descent is Off = no vertical navigation (if I remember my home work :Tounge: ).

Folks,

If I don't load the flightplan directly from PFPX and don't fly on-line, so technically I may cut-off AOC, right? I suspect that this guy is sucking out FPS somehow,

If you are manually entering all of your flight plans then I think you are correct.  I have no idea if this service is actually linked to any other A320 systems.

Okey, I'm gonna try it later tonight

Folks,

Since the manual is quite humble, I'm just curious is there any winds' imports exist similar to what PMDG have.

Great stuff thanks  Need to dick into the FCOM/FCTM´s

But the bow solution on the ND is a nice extra touch in the Boing´s agree ? You get a very nice and quick perspective where the "end of the bow" is vs "your supposed to be at" Descent Path.

Thanks

I was having some issues with AOC initially causing bad stutters (even though I had high FPS in the 40-50 range) and had to disable it each flight in task manager.  Oddly, it now seems to not be causing me any issues.  FSL has stated that they found the cause and it should be fixed in the next update.  That being said, AOC does pull your PFPX plan I found out....by accident!  It apparently recognizes the route once you plug in the departure and destination and you flight plan magically appears!  It is a wonderful aircraft, the best I have flown to date.  My NGX which I have flown exclusively for the past 2 years has been hangared...

Okey, I'm gonna try it later tonight

You cannot at the moment import winds like you can in the NGX but you can insert an average headwind/tailwind that is provided on the PFPX plan.  I think the wind entries are planned for their SP1.

Actually you can enter detailled winds for each flight phase from DATA page, but I'm not sure the use of them is done in the code as they are not displayed in the F-PLN page / Vertical revision.

Anyone knows if the winds are taken into account when calculating the vertical navigation? Either detailed winds or average winds?

If you are manually entering all of your flight plans then I think you are correct.  I have no idea if this service is actually linked to any other A320 systems.

Is this service need to whom loads the plan as a TO/FROM combination? I like this approach better than that odd printing approach.

I think you need this service running to request weather too(from AS16), don't you?  If it's not running, you can't do it via the MCDU.

Correct..it is also used to pull your flight plan from PFPX. I've been using it to get the flight ready and then ending it in task manager before takeoff due to the stutter issues I have had with it.

Amazing aircraft indeed . I am gonna put hours/days/years into this Airbus.

There is not much information regarding the PFPX integration. If i print a flightplan where should it load ?

I get a invalid flightplan upon requesting.

making a DEP/ARR airport combi seems to work also. At least it loads a flightplan (very very nice) Is this from VATSIM ?

Thanks

All you have to do is save your PFPX PDF as e.g. LFPGEGLL01 and put it in FSL route folder.

Then enter in your co route LFPGEGLL01 and it loads your flight plan etc.

I should select the AOC printer insight PFPX offcause right ?

Do you have a 320-232 TOPCAT profile btw ?
