FSLabs A320 for P3D - so is it worth it?

Featured Replies

LOL, I just a had a huge a-ha moment! I never thought that I'll have to google and youtube the internet for something this trivial...

First, I was amazed how they modelled sounds, in a manner of hearing what's outside etc. Try running brake fans, and then open exits. Nice, right? But... try opening cockpit windows! That's what I call immersion.

But wait... try to close them... (I really had to google it!).

So yeah, worth it :)

Hahaha, same happened to me...looking for click-spots, found the handle, opened the window...couldnt close it :/ was quite chilling in the flightdeck, at -7C outside temp...

youtube saved me from freezing to death

Gave in and bought it, first flight was from fly Tampa yyz to simaddons yhz, finished the flight with 400gb vas, overall flight was very enjoyable. Today I'll take an IAE powered A320 for a ride to see the differences.

Accidentally decompressed the cabin when I opened the pilot's window slightly without realizing it, oops!

Just for the sake of a fun, tried it, but didn't want to open...(in flight).

Just a heads up for you guys that are having VAS problems. Someone on the FSlabs forum has reported that the latest Nvidia drivers are causing a memory leak for them, I rolled back to 376.33 driver and the vas seems a lot more stable. I started a flight cold and dark with 1.6gb VAS fired it up from cold and dark and im an hour into the cruise and my vas is sitting happy at 1.35GB. So seems a lot more stable. Will do more testing.

I'm a little slow this morning, and for some reason can't find the answer to this (even though I'm sure I saw it somewhere before)

Will it run on P3D V3.2 (with the v1.0.1.193 update)?

Have been hesitant to upgrade as I have so little time for simming at the moment (need to jump into the cockpit and go) and P3D V3.2 has been working well...

Thanks,

Daniel

I am having two issues that I have not been able to solve

1) When I am on the ground, the throttle does not sit at idle, its either TOGA or Reverse.  I am thinking this is a minor issue and it could get solved

But the next one is a bigger problem for me but may not be most of the simmers.

2) I have Flight Illusion gauges (Hardware) and the lights do not come on on those gauges. Probably due to the default  Sim values not being set internally.  Whelp..it comes on sometimes and then disappears. It's dark in my cockpit.  Usually, hitting the "L" turns it on or when I click the NAV lights, it turns the lights on. but it does not on the A320. I never had issues with the PMDG aircrafts even though they do lots of things outside the Sim.  This bothers me more than anything... . Since  this issue is not common for most simmers, I do not have hope that it's going to get resolved anytime soon.  This one is a potential Hangar queen for me. Although the values of the gauges like attitude indicator, VAS values are not corrupted... unlike the MAjestic Q300 where they have  messed up almost all the gauge internal values in the sim making my home cockpit which relies on the sim internal values totally unusable, The FSlabs A320 is pretty good but for the lights.

Question to all buyers: Are the clickspots in the FSLabs 320 as comfortable as in PMDG products?

What about mousewheel support for rotating knobs?

Thank you!

Regards, Sebastian

Yes just the same.

Sure did, it sounded angry!!

I accidentally open it on the ground while searching for the nonexistent pedal disc click spot before realizing it's the comma key.

For anyone browsing this thread contemplating buying this plane (like me), here is an awesome, 40 minute long, very balanced breakdown. Osamah can always be counted on to cut through both the hype and the hate and give a very fair appraisal of whatever he reviews.

To me PMDG is as much perfect as possible, not the case of FSL. Mousewheel will work on the rotary knobs that deal with numbers, but not so true with the other controls (where the akins of PMDG would work perfectly). Example: TCAS selector works very well in PMDG with the mousewheel, but in FSL it goes one direction only, for the other you have to click.

Also don't forget the ongoing issues with the DXGI-crashes, which apparently many users are getting (see FSL forums).

I've had about 3 all on load up, restart P3D all fine.
