He lost me with his silly bashing of FSX and those that still use it in a couple posts.  I am a P3D/XP user, but there's nothing wrong with FSX and I've got all the versions since 4.0...  Seem to recall is was a post about it getting cloud shadows or something, which I thought was cool.  He made it abundantly clear he did not think it was lol.

I stopped reading that silly news site a very long time ago. You have to be un biased when reporting and feels like it is edited by a 12 year old.

To be fair, one of the things I like about D'Andre is strong opinion on various issues. It's actually a breath air fresh air to have someone call things for what they are - or how he sees them and not dance a politically correct tune all the time. At the end of the day - I'm still going to do my own thing. I'm equally opinionated and gobby.

So you guys are denouncing his personal blog for doing the very thing you do on here everyday. Makes sense.

 

Its a news/review site. Its like if a movie reviewer loved every movie he saw. Whats the point.

 

I'm glad he lets you know if something is good or bad especially when it comes to money.

 

You're probably the same people who throw a hissy fit if an aircraft isn't "PMDG quality".

You do know both froogle and him break even or even lose money buying this scenery and aircraft to review for you, right?

 

Not to mention they have day jobs and use their free time for this.

 

This is also why developers dont give release dates anymore cause people lost their minds over it.

I don't think AirDaily X needs to be hit so hard over this bump in the road. I think part of the blame goes to us here At AVSIM who have been making fun of the timing for the upcoming Pr3d v4 release. Although most of us were well aware that we were just having a bit of fun but some folks are easy to get excited and they were hoping for the ADX anouncement to be connected. I dont visit the ADX site much at all but they are to some degree a victim here.

Then read some of the comments on an article adjacent to the PMDG 747v3 "announcement." A couple of folks took him to task on his lack of recent coverage and he mentioned that there was a lack of respect or something. I suggest you find those comments.

Froogle is about the only guy I can handle on YouTube. Love his reviews.

Orbx Innsbruck looks pretty amazing but I have to wonder what the impact on VAS and frames will be.  Certainly doing nothing until I see reports using the NGX and A320X into this airport.

One would hope that isn't the case. As we all know, PMDG have made some great products, but I absolutely agree that nobody should be beyond any criticism, thus it's also true that nobody should come in for a personal slating providing any criticism they make is justifiable and made in a civil manner. But with that in mind, there is really no denying that it is kind of difficult to find something to truly b*tch about with PMDG in terms of their products, simply because they do make great products, so if someone is overtly against them on a fairly regular basis, it is inevitably going to look like they've got a weed up their @ss about something other than the stuff they make and sell.

 

I've never been in the business of blowing sunshine up anyone's @ss and I'm not about to start anytime soon either lol, no matter how good they are, but as noted, it's also true that I'd only get on the case with someone if I felt there was a legitimate reason for doing so, and in which case, I'd come right out and say what that reason was rather than have it appear that it was something personal. For example, it's no secret that I'm a big fan of 737s, so obviously I like PMDG's NG, but I've said on many occasions that the iFly NG is not so far behind the PMDG 737 as to represent better value for money given how many variants you get with it and the fact that the iFly ones are eminently flyable. I've got em both, PMDG and iFly, but I'm never going to say the PMDG one is the only one worth having, because it isn't, for the reason I just stated.

 

So there you go, some criticism of PMDG, but with a legitimate and transparent justification for having made it, which people can either agree or disagree with depending on their preference. And that's the key point, so long as there is a legitimate reason to criticise something, and it's done in a civilised manner, it's very often actually a good thing.

Wow!, I don't know how many Innsbrucks we will have at the end of the process, but this one from ORBX will be absolutely the best ever!.

I had already indicated where they were but since you don't want to seem to find them, here, let me help! Feb 3rd post entitled "Because There's More To FS Than 747's..."

 

And how did you get from someone at least partially disputing your claim that "he is very friendly with PMDGs owner" to "Is no one allowed to speak ill of the great PMDG?" That's quite a leap in logic.

AirDailyX and D'Andre's "Style"   = marmite.  Some love it, some hate it!

 

I'm personally somewhere in the middle. I do visit it, and have found it useful for release announcements. But the author is highly opinionated and on many occasions has shown that he doesn't take well to his opinion being contradicted.   He is very generalist, is often condescending to FSX and it's user base ("why would anyone still be on FSX??").   It's certainly not an impartial news site, but instead (which to be fair D'Andre often points out himself) a blog, of his opinions.
