April 19, 20179 yr Separation between planes in flight is a bit of an issue on busy airways...I saw this as I was flying into SFO. These planes were all headed to SFO and OAK. We were not anywhere close to the approach yet. June 9, 20179 yr Doesn't it work for Prepar3D V4 yet? Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471
June 9, 20179 yr it works with v4 but you have to modify 2 files manualy. so it doesn`t work out of the box with V4 C. W. ,Ryzen 9 5950X @H2O , 32 GB RAM DDR4 3600 Mhz CL15 , Corsair MP600 Pro Watercooled 2 TB for P3D, Samsung SSD980 1 TB for Addons and Crucial MMX500, Red Devil Ultimate 6900 XT
June 10, 20179 yr The add-on.xml file method is really nice, by adding a <catergory> for both your exe.xml file and your simobjects.cfg file, Pop the add-on.xml file into your Prepar3D v3\v4 Add-ons folder, Launch Prepar3D, click enable when prompted to and away you go You can Copy the below entry and Paste it into your add-on.xml file BUT you would need to change the <path>'s of your UTL Install location As you can see below my <path> starts with C:\Program Files............ <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>Ultimate Traffic Live</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>Ultimate Traffic Live.</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>EXE</Category> <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utl_client.exe</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Simobjects</Category> <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utLive Aircraft</Path> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document>
June 10, 20179 yr how does one change the icao codes of existing airports which names have changed and have the traffic flying to them?
June 10, 20179 yr http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Changing_Airport_ICAO You need to use Airport Design Editor (ADE).

I copied your .xml as my UTL paths are exactly the same. It also does not show if I go into P3D to the 'Addons' menu. I'm obviously missing something but cannot figure it out.. Edit: I figured out my issue. My .xml file was named exe.xml instead of add-on.xml....all working fine now. This is in fact actually a much better process for addons! If so, when I amend this, then my other add-ons stop working such as GSX and add on manager as well as chase plane. Even then, I am still unable to get UTL working. Can you please advice if I am looking at the correct location. Many thanks.
June 11, 20179 yr Hi, An easer way : if you have FSUIPC5, you ca load it with FSUIOC. You have juste to add the planes in simobject.cfg Yves Yves SAMUEL ELLX

As per my last post, UTL will launch from the add-on.xml file in the Prepar3D Add-on's folder in Documents Follow the steps below......... First Create an add-on.xml file 1) Right click anywhere on your desktop, Click New, Click Tex Document You will now have a little white file on your desktop 2) Right Click on this white file, Click Rename Call this file add-on.xml 3) Go to: Documents > Prepar3D v4 Add-ons, Create and Name a new folder inside calling it UTL 4) Now click and drag your new add-on.xml file and pop it into the new folder UTL Adding the UTL entry to the add-on.xml file...... Right Click on your new add-on.xml file and Open With > Notepad ++ Below is my add-on.xml file for Ultimate Traffic Live, As you can see I Installed UTL to Program Files so the first part of my path is <Path>C:\Program Files You can Copy and Paste this into your add-on.xml file But You need to Input your own <Path> in both of the <Category>'s <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>Ultimate Traffic Live</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>Ultimate Traffic Live.</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>EXE</Category> <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utl_client.exe</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Simobjects</Category> <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utLive Aircraft</Path> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document>

June 11, 20179 yr Quote From Flight1: Hello, After talking directly with dev yesterday, here are a couple of notes while we continue with development of Ultimate Traffic Live. 1) Ultimate Traffic Live will officially support v4 when we reach the point of a final release. 2) Prepared V4 - Prepar3d V4 is currently not supported. I see several of you using file hacks and workarounds to get it in working in V4. While we appreciate the enthusiasm on getting this product working in V4, we strongly recommend that you keep and use the product in v3 for the time being. We will not offer support or solve crash issues related to V4 installs at this time. 3) Support Responses - Dev has been working with a few people to fix common crash issues via other comms to get these issues resolved and add them to the next build. If you are currently having crashes and you have not been contacted by me yet, please be patient. I will be culling through the forums once again to see if any of those have outstanding issues over the next day or two. Also keep in mind that we did stress this was a 'soft' release and it is not fully functional yet. Be patient as there is much going on behind the scenes with development as we work on getting to a new version build for you to use and provide feedback on. 4) Finally, Thanks! We appreciate your enthusiasm for the product and we will continue to move forward on development based on your feedback and suggestions. Keep them coming and thanks for your continues support and patience. Jacek G.
