Doh! Thanks.

Man, this actually looks pretty decent.

For normal operations, I think it will be excellent, especially as its Hans Hartman that is the main developer.

Not used over water much, it seems.  Nice routes otherwise.

It says this product will be released September 28th on the preorder page, or is that box version?

CRJ is either a CRJ-100 or CRJ-200.

CRA is a CRJ-700 in the body of a CRJ-900...externally it's a CRJ-900 but it has fewer seats, capacity of 70 iirc.  These are unique to Air Canada I believe, and are being retrofitted to increase the capacity to that of a standard CRJ-900.

Too bad, the CRA's were some of the best aircraft in the Air Canada fleet for economy leg room.

hope that helps.

Thanks for that Dave,  much appreciated

My pleasure.  One thing I forgot to mention is that the CRA is technically known as a CRJ-705 and Air Canada Express is indeed the first and only operator.

Found some interesting stuff on airliners.net...

The name CRJ-705 originally came about from a joint effort of Bombardier and USAirways to get around the USAirways pilot contract which limited RJ flying to CRJ-700s. They intended for it to mean a 70 seat RJ. (the E-170 was around at the time, but was not really to be outsourced, instead was to be flown by USAirways pilots for MidAtlantic) Poorly written scope, but that was the intent. Management decided to try and get around that and fly a larger RJ by getting Bombardier to come up with a version called the -705. But a 705 is just a 900 by a different name.

Look it up. There are no external differences between the 705 and the 900. So why is it not called a 905?

It is indeed much closer to the 900 in specs...

Specifications from Bombardier. The 900 and 705 have same dimensions, the 700 is shorter.

@Jm8592 Nice pics! I flew one time in the CRJ, some years ago, with US Airways Express from Philadelphia to Spartanburg / Greenville.

You guys need to make some videos from Cold & Dark to takeoff and upload them to Youtube :-) I want to see it before I buy it.

Does someone know if you have a "Copilot" like in the A32x's?

Oh, those aren't my pics, can't take credit for them. They were done by someone else, and Mathis posted them on the preview thread right before it was released.

I was just relaying the screen shots.

And yeah, for sure, I'm sure those kinds of videos will be poping up soon.

I just downloaded and installed, and it's looking great so far!
