I can't comment on other users results, but you can go ahead and ask him :).

Personally I see the same speed on my systems as I had on 4.4 with 4.5, and under certain circumstances a have bit of increase on the FPS.

As soon as other add-on's like Hi-Fi, FSLabs, F1 GTN, etc. update their modules you will need to update to the latest version of P3D.

Currently the above software works fine with 4.4 and 4.5 pre-hotfix. I hope they don't start forcing user to upgrade to the latest version seeing what 4.5 caused when it was released. Users hate being forced to update and ruin a perfectly running P3D install.

If it's Rob A, than I trust his findings.

I understand, but sometimes new features requires new versions of P3D IE:, read the FSLABS update: https://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/20737-a320-x-a319-x-for-p3d-v42-45-update-v202347-now-released/

Steering
Added option to inhibit rudder axis from affecting nose wheel steering (requires P3D v4.5)

Hello,

I had pauses with v4.5 so I went back to v4.4 (Client). I just installed the v4.5 hotfix Client and the pauses are gone! I don't see any changes in FPS in my first test flight.

Best,
Rob

Make sure you clarify he's saying a 7.1% drop compared to 4.4 in 4.5 HF1, not an additional 7.1% on top of his performance decrease in 4.5

He also adds; "If so, there were some PBR issues and other "lighting issues" that were cleaned up and improved on including shader changes and night time terrain blending."

So that 7.1% is well within margin of error plus a few percentages from changes in shader and various code.

The new update works perfectly for me.  FPS smooth and consistent.    I replaced Client, Content, and Scenery.  I deleted Shaders and let a new P3d Config create itself.  Everything looks good.

On my system the initial P3Dv4.5 did work more or less similar to v4.4.

Now that I installed the hotfix P3Dv4.5 crashes during start up and closes down.

Whatever I tried P3Dv4.5 keeps shutting down during initial start up.

Unforunately I deleted the initial v4.5 client, so cannot go back to the v4.5 that did work for me..

Most people who aren't having issues don't post so I thought I would.

I have not had any noticeable performance issues in 4.5 but I downloaded and installed the client hotfix just now.

The installation (client only) was swift and easy - two minutes to uninstall and re-install it.  I did not have to re-validate.

In sim I see a marked performance increase of 4-5 FPS at my standard test location.  The most frame-heavy add on I have is the Maddog X, and previously it would get 25-28 FPS at this location, but now is a steady 30.0 (which is my locked frame rate)

Not saying others don't have issues ... best of luck to you all.
