Here are some cloudier/darker photos and even here, the water looks vastly different from the MSFS in-sim shot.  This definitely needs fixing

(which I have no doubt will happen - these guys have been too “on-it” to not fix something like tropical water)

And then in-sim again - for comparision

I think the dark color of the water are due to the reflection of the mountain. The real color of the water is lighter color on the left hand side.

the airport building in real life is white not grey

The sim screenshot is also from a far lower angle, and much further away.

Guys. C’mon.

You honestly think the hue of the water, anywhere in the sim shot, is appropriate for tropical water?

I am open to be convinced. Can you share some shots of this real world location where the water looks anything like the sim shot?

This has nothing to do with tropical water.  Even mountainlakes in the alps can look have a 'tropical' look. Maybe it's related to water depth and the sub-surface.

Tropical water perhaps is the wrong way to have phrased it.

I simply meant “appropriate for this location and situation”, which happens to be a tropical locale.

Sorry. I thought what I meant was mostly clear. Apologies if not.

I hope they get it right. There are a lot of similar beaches, even in Europe.

and FS5 where the clouds were literally rectangular legos in the sky

At least they were proper 3D clouds... 🙂

Also definitely hope they will fix this, as water color is obviously a major aspect of these and other tropical regions. Even many southern European coastal locations have this water but I think I have seen it there in the sim. In fact, they have showed us similar places with turqoise water before so I am really surpised it is not here.

Thanks for the heads-up, sadly I cannot update the original post anymore. There is some conflicting information though (and it took several refreshes to see the updated date), earlier in the update they still say the next update is on 6 February, and on the latest Development Roadmap there is no deliverable for 30 January. Hopefully they will see this and clear it up.

This has now been corrected in the site and matches my original post, next update on 6 February after all.

Even posting a real pic, they looked so close I'm not saying anything till I get the sim. This is crazy in here. Sheesh

I think some people need a little reality treatment. 😄

Fire up the sim of your choice and look at the same scenery in default quality. Then come back and judge the screenshot again.

Happy with MSFS 🙂
home simming evolved

It's so much better than what's out there now that honestly it can come out as it is and I'm fine with it.

If it's not enough for some, well, the market is not short of simulators...

After the criticisms come from well-meaning, neutral people or from people who are frustrated by the fear of having their toys detroned ?
