April 3, 20206 yr Yes, it is using about 7 fps on my 1080 as well...so I go from 27 to 20. 😆 It also depends heavily on your location - without reflective buildings or water in your area, the effect of it will be minimal of course. So its easy to compare apples to oranges. It may be different for different gfx cards, but everyone needs to experiment before lamenting. If I see that someone has the textures on medium but the reflections on max I think that that person did not follow a strict testing regime but simply swiped sliders somewhere according to wild guessing. Cheers, Jan

Cheers, Jan Thanks Jan. I agree. I followed the video exactly and then tweaked from there. I will keep trying. pleased with the results overall even though I'm not getting what others are (due to my limitations). April 3, 20206 yr Moderator Overall I'm not seeing huge differences in FPS, but I'm only using metal not vulkan (On Mac OS). It's quite brutal on 4GB GPUs with cutting out textures, and well, it's my own fault for trying to run it on such a low-end system. On a higher end system I'm seeing slightly higher FPS, but at the cost of blurred textures, no x-vision, no skymaxx etc means I'm sticking to OpenGL until it really matures.. A great step forward though.
April 3, 20206 yr SkyMaxx Pro v4.9.0 Update! This release brings experimental support for Vulkan if you are a Windows user. For Mac users, please be aware Metal is not supported. You can still enjoy this v4.9.0 update when running X-Plane in OpenGL mode. Here's what's changed in version 4.9.0:What's New / Changed: Lower default scattered coverage from 40% to 30% when weather data does not specify a coverage value Increase max number of precipitation particles Fix fog and cloud/terrain blending in VR Added new "force weather reload" menu option More accurate cloud altitudes when used with Real Weather Connector METAR cloud heights converted from AGL to MSL using the elevation of the reporting weather station, not the elevation of the viewpoint Experimental Vulkan support for X-Plane 11.50 As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation! A great step forward though. I had blurred textures as well, and also, about ten minutes into the flight, no autogen was being displayed on top of my Ortho4XP tiles. I switched back to 11.41 and OpenGL, and everything was crystal sharp...even two hours into a flight with full autogen and forestry. So, that's that as they say. It was interesting trying it out. Between 11.41 and 11.50, I picked up about 5 FPS...but at the cost of a very bad presentation.
April 3, 20206 yr Still getting the black screen on start up with Vulcan: two video cards on my system and it appears XP11 Vulcan mode is selecting the wrong card. A few lines from the XP11 Log file: (I know LR crew are aware of this) " Vulkan devices: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GeForce GTX 750 Ti Selected device: Vulkan Device : GeForce GTX 750 Ti Vulkan Version : 1.1.126 Vulkan Driver : 445.75.0 " Obviously the wrong card is being chosen as the GTX 750 (2GB) is not connected to the main screen...
