Right, make a backup of your Prepar3d.cfg.. then delete it.. and re-start P3D.. try with the default settings first.. then ramp up slowly and see what happens to the FPS.. this will help to determine the cause.

S.

Ok, Simbol. I will ramp up from a fresh .cfg and monitor the fps changes that go with settings changes.

Is it possible to enable Dynamic Texture Streaming mid-flight or does it require a restart?

Wow im pretty annoyed about this, we should all be, and thats what im talking about, for the people with high end systems with plenty of vram left are having to cop the new performance limit to ensure lower spec pc wont crash, wow

I think you understand incorrectly. Disable texture streaming, which is a new feature, and you should be back pre-hotfix...

You can enable or disable at any stage of the flight..

I just uninstalled the whole V5 and reinstalled the whole new V5.  Everything seems to be working.  Though I did get a device hung in LVFR KMIA.  never had one until today.  but it seems to be just MIA and FLL running with high VRAM.

Thank you! I have RTX 2070 Super that has only 8GB od VRAM so this will come handy if I notice a lot of VRAM usage mid-flight.

Those 2 plus LEMD also from LatinVFR are just VRAM eaters!! LM can´t do anything about it, all the textures in those 3 airports are 4k...only way is to limit the texture resolution to 1024...

If I delete the "<AddOn.Description />" line in the add-on.xml files, P3D loads!

You save us!! Thanks

Because this is my devel computer. I need a defined baseline.

Current state: After another uninstall, delete an reinstall, the sim started. Adding any external (add-on.xml) scenery to it, renders it non-functional again. It pretends to rebuild the scenery index, but then the splash screen disappears again - and no sim. The sim won't even ask for all packages to be activated, it just stops after the first scenery package. Other packages (aircraft etc) seem to work.

Best regards

I used to have to delete the scenerystatus.bin (C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v(x)) file before initiating V3 usually due to some addons, then it rebuilt the scenery file according to addon intentions.

Might work here too, but i had to do that almost every time so made a shortcut to that folder on my desktop

I've done a clean install of the hotfix, but my external addons (eg Orbx libraries) are not recognised and don't appear in scenery.cfg.

I note that when I finished installing it first the Roaming profile exe.xml and dll.xml were missing and I had to copy them from the other location.

Any ideas?
