The reason for stopping downloads of the beta is that Hifi has so many open support tickets that they can't adequately respond in a timely manner to its user base.

You expect support requests and hopefully minor reports but the majority of problems with people being unable to register was a show stopper. To me it was a class move to pjut a hold on the downloads rather than get so swamped that support would suffer. I think that the vendors who closed shop threw a wrench into the mix leaving many users with inability to locate their order#. When I make a purchase, I print the invoice and registration numbers and keep them in a folder. Makes it much easier to locate passwords, logon info etc. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
May 9, 20206 yr Thanks for the Dev's prompt return on my Ticket! Seems I purchased AS for P3D4 at defunct FlightSim Store. They retrieved my purchase order and key. So, up and running. I have one question already. It seems that I had with my last usage of v5, TrueSky set to on. Well, ASP3D v5 mode, turned it off. So...when I tried to turn back on TrueSky, and then fly again...I noticed that when I went back into the World Graphics, that the TrueSky box was again disabled. So, question, Does the new ASforP3Dv5 mode run with TrueSky or does it always try to turn it off?!? If it isn't disabling the T.S. box...then something else is...gremlins?!?!?!?
May 9, 20206 yr It seems (at least what I noticed), that TrueSky seems to deactivate automatically and silently in certain demanding condations, most likely VRAM related. Got this at a few FlyTampa Sceneries like KLAS, this is not related to Active Sky. You won't get any message but for me it worked enabling it again and it was back.

You are absolutely right...again that was what happened. I was at a high demand custom airport (KORD) and I just purchased TerraFlora2 (which by the way is killer! picture below...really is worth the upgrade cost!) and so I looked at my vRAM and I was right at 6.7/6.7 I went back to KFNT, and I dropped down to 5.2/6.7 and enabled TrueSky again. Now, it is sticking...checked four times once per minute...so I think that P3D will try and auto-drop the vRAM load (in the back ground) to keep you from CTD'ing. Thanks for your reply! Again, if you haven't picked up Orbx's TerraFlora v2...I recommend to all, that you do:
May 9, 20206 yr speaking of keeping track, about 2004 or 06 I ran into a program called treepad. it's basically a cvs data file, I have kept records of all buys I have made since then. passwords for forums usernames, info for things around the house etc. The publishers went out (freebyte) of business a few years ago, you can find treepad at cnet or any other trusted freeware site. All records are just comma separated in a databse, very small footprint, easy to learn. I rarely find a need for spending a lot of time trying to get info for a purchase (and I got a lot of 'em) Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's
May 9, 20206 yr I wonder how much memory P3D for v5 uses?!? I have had four CTD's since installing it...and all vRAM exhaustion. For a test, I fired up FSXWP 1.6.1, and no higher vRAM usage than normal, and no CTD's while not kicking me out of TrueSky. So...does P3Dv5 occupy vRAM? Post Edit. I can confirm! Running P3D in v5 mode consumed 1.2 GB vRAM on my system. I load with it running and my FBO, and I am at 5.7/6.7 with TrueSky on. I shut down...I ran with FSXWX 1.6.1 to inject weather...that is a true stand alone...nothing gets installed into the Add-On folder...and upon placing at my FBO, I was (with the same weather portrayed) 1.2 GB less vRAM. It also seemed that I had even a better cloudscape above me. Folks, try it out for yourselves...download freeware FSXWX 1.6.1...set up Vol Fog tab...run it with P3Dv5 and see if your vRAM is less than when you fire up H.F.'s P3D v5 Beta. If you get the same results as me...then something is wrong, and that might be why so many are CTD'ing...with the present Beta. Just a thought. Edited May 9, 20206 yr by Sesquashtoo

May 9, 20206 yr I keep all the installers and a copy of the serial, if required, with them. If I need the order number and I have not saved it, as I had not saved the HiFi one, the stored serial will give me a clue as to which reseller to search for and a search of hotmail all the way from 2005 does not often either take long, or fail. May 9, 20206 yr I made it a habit of putting purchase info in a section of my onenote. Really saved my hide when fspilotshop went MIA.
May 9, 20206 yr ASP3D beta has resumed Changelog: Open Beta #2 - May 9, 2020 - Improved registration process for OPEN BETA with ASP4 license eligibility, for easier automatic order lookup witout requiring order ID/order # - You will still need your VALID ASP4 license key - Test changes to isolate stability issues reported in some cases - Attempted fix for problem with clear weather after changing EA mode, previously you would need to manually refresh to see the changes in some cases, now it should automatically refresh accordingly - Added proper enforcement of P3Dv4.5 HF3 - Previously HF2 was allowed and causing potential compatibility issues ---- Kenneth Verburg, Netherlands
May 9, 20206 yr Downloading now - I had no issues (P3D V4.5 except could not tune in METAR with 122.02 etc)
May 9, 20206 yr Installed latest Beta version and it still doesn't show clouds when using EA in P3dV5. Still have the hazy to the horizon. Danny
