May 8, 20206 yr I signed up June 10 2019 and been using MS flight simulator since 1982, but still not invited as Alpha tester. How dare you MS, to not to let me in now? Edited May 8, 20206 yr by vv1918

I'm really not concerned over whether or not I get access to the alpha/beta test or not in regards to being able to play with things, my concern is that any alpha test should be what it says, a testing phase rather than an opportunity for people to post screenshots. I would much rather see reports over what has been solved, overcome or improved in terms of problems which were encountered during such tests. This should be the reason people want to be testers. I don't deny it would be interesting to see where it is at, but I'm more concerned with the way they keep dangling it to people in an attempt to keep interest. An alpha test is about testing, not dangling carrots in an attempt to keep people at fever pitch for something. Too many people seem to think being a beta or alpha tester is about getting freebie early access to things when it is not, it is about genuinely being interested in testing stuff and reporting performance so that useful information can be gleaned in order to streamline or improve a product in its production stage. Beyond this, there is a finite limit to how long anyone can keep teasing about stuff before it becomes counter-productive. May 8, 20206 yr How do you propose that Asobo could sign up alpha testers without publicly announcing they're accepting applications for alpha testers? I don't think they're trying to tease anyone. Even though it might seem that way, we don't know what's happening behind the scenes. Several of these screenshots could actually be bug reports, and in the previous update there was a screenshot with a couple of obvious bugs that was removed later. People are definitely having fun taking pictures, but many could have a purpose beyond that. Based on what Asobo are writing on the development updates regarding feedback, the Feedback Snapshot itself and the build notes, it looks like enough testing is taking place, and development is moving at a good pace. They did say the Alpha was progressing faster than expected a few months ago, and in a couple of months the Beta will be released. I don't think there's any reason for concern here. As for reporting what has been improved thanks to the testing, the build notes should be good enough for the public. Any more and there wouldn't be much of a reason for the NDA. Regarding the constant teasing, if they really wanted to tease they'd just use official footage which would be a lot more polished, and not tester screenshots with a varying range of graphics settings and resolutions, as well as lots of obvious problems. For me at least, it makes the wait a lot easier, knowing what the Alpha build actually looks like on consumer systems. Though I could agree with reducing the overall amount of screenshots being posted and scaling back the development updates to three per month as before. The actual content is being stretched thin and makes the wait for a new development update less exciting.

I'm doing OpT- out if i dont recieve the access invite next week and then i wont buy the game, im only interested in creations, i find flying so monotonous, boring and time wasting.

Look at it from a positive perspective. While you are not being invited, regard it as the others fixing some bugs so that you can enjoy a smoother experience once you get your hands on. 😄 6 hours ago, Chock said: I would much rather see reports over what has been solved, overcome or improved in terms of problems which were encountered during such tests. May 9, 20206 yr 32gb ram doesnt seem to help either. Theres some other criteria beyond system specs. I signed up day 1, with a decent system, although gpu is a little weak, yet no invites. Maybe something to do with the xbox signup stuff which I had to to brand new with zero history on it. Not sure how they are doing the testing assignments, but with such a big group , I gather it has some semblance or organization. Group A tests these functions Group B go to this continent and do xyz. Just a wild guess, but definitely im sure the large Alpha group helps to spot bugs and anomalies alot faster then with just a Beta group as is the case with most dev teams. You’re not entitled to any invite, so your ultimatums won’t cut it. How exactly are you going to ‘create’ with an alpha invite? The sole purpose of Alpha is for users to fly around and report bugs of all kinds, which apparently you’re not interested in. if you want to create/design, they’ve mentioned previously to send them an email and they’ll give you a copy of the SDK to get involved in their development. Also, there are separate sub-forums here within Avsim which focus on addon/scenery/aircraft development.
May 9, 20206 yr Fingers crossed🤞 hope we get in next time! signed up the first day it went live lol good luck all.🙂 Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED
May 9, 20206 yr Maybe we should have a new forum called 'Pity Party" for those who intend opting out because they are upset that they have not been chosen for alpha testing? Maybe send invites to mp15 & Chock to join the forum? (as they don't have invites for anything else) Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

In the last wave, which if I recall correctly was very short and lasted just one day, most of the people being invited reported that they signed up in the October-November timeframe. But for a chance to get in, the most important factor is having a system equipped with 32GB RAM or more. If you have less than, your chances of receiving an invite are much lower. I signed up of the first day possible and I've had a new system for 4/5 month along with 32 GB of Ram (yes I've updated my profile), unfortunately I've still got no invite, but hopefully next week..... well you never know. You're either over reacting or trying to fish for reactions, so which is it? To be into flight simming and find flying boring defeats to object of the hobby. May 9, 20206 yr mp15, if you find the hobby so monotonous, boring and time wasting, why are you on this forum? Do you actually have any sim at all? (probably not, as you find flying so monotonous, boring and time wasting). Well, we, I speak for most here, find your comments as being time wasters, as you obviously do not have a sim, by your own statement, & you feel that we are actually interested or even concerned that you, as you find flying monotonous, boring and time wasting, are interested in MSFS at all, & if you do not buy the product. Why do you actually want an alpha invite when you actually are not interested in the hobby? Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
