Has and will always be terrible.

All,

I did the option of uninstalling client, uninstalling content, and uninstalling scenery.  Delete shaders and P3d.cfg.  Install each in this order Client, Content and Scenery...Lastly HIFI Weather Beta 6.    I am flying now from KMSY to KDFW in Aerosoft 321.  No problems without a complete reinstall so far.  I just wanted to let others know there are options.  I will update if I start having issues.  Have a great day!

Mark

Did a few test flights, all seems well. The updated Chaseplane caused a crash though but otherwise it has been good.

Truesky looks beautiful, so yes for the clouds. I don't know what the abominations in your screenshots were, but that's not in any way typical of Truesky/EA.

The Truesky grid is a real thing and has been acknowledged by LM on their forum and doesn't appear in the release notes as having been fixed; I haven't installed HF2 yet, but will shortly. It is more obvious/common when EA is set to Medium, but mostly occurs with thin cloud layers. Sadly, EA on medium is something those of us with only 8GB of VRAM have to live with when flying VRAM demanding aircraft like the maddog. As we've discussed, still better than 2D sprites though... 😉

Is it normal to get lower FPS with clear skies than in fogged situations?

Yes this can happen because without the fog the viewable rendering distance is much farther creating a greater demand on the cpu.

Installed. First impressions:
The sky in the box or flat, the water is like oil, The cockpit is still black.

Waiting for the arrival of delight😏

Did you try deleting the shaders folder after the HF upgrade?

So much more beautiful! I will have to completely reinstall the simulator. And show the waves please. My oil looks awful.

You must enable cloud reflections when using EA, otherwise you'll get black water in cloudy conditions. I've always disabled them in previous versions as they looked terrible, so this caught me out when I first tried v5 with TrueSky .

Performance seems to have taken hit with this HF, but probably the price we will have to pay for stability.

My initial impressions are slightly lower fps but smoother stability.. that's with default A/C so reinstalling my troublesome (stability issues) addon the Flysimware FA50, then will report back if it's improved. So far so good.

I just got a CTD so we don't even get that.

dude. I am in the alpha since the beginning. You don't need to tell me.

So go post in the MSFS forum. I’ll link it for you if you need help. Nobody cares. This forum is for P3D.

SO. SICK. of this MSFS word not allowed in the P3D forum. Honestly.

The P3D5 HF2 Compatible Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch and GNS 530/430 V2 updates were released a couple hours ago already!

Please note: both products are always forward compatible with any new P3D5 release*.
The updates are only needed for auto-pilot coupling.

*unless the new update significantly changes the SDK implementation.

I installed HF2 using the client method, fired it up, and my RXP GTN750 worked just fine without updating it. I didn’t even know I was supposed to.
