Longest owned flight sim hardware?

You don’t say what the lag is like but given it’s essentially free bar the cost of the app it’s certainly worthy of consideration for those iPad owners.

There is almost no lag Ray - the display on the VC changes to match that on the app as soon as you remove your finger from the iPad so it is virtually instantaneous. I can't remember exactly what it cost as it was some time ago but I think the Remote Flight Radio app was something in the region of £18. Those GoFlight modules are very tempting though!

Although it is slightly off topic, here is a link to the relevant Remote Flight webpage for anyone who wanted to consider this less expensive option:

Well, it's only "less expensive" for those who already own an iPad... 😎

Very true!

I still use a CH Products Flight Sim Yoke that I bought...a long time ago, I don't really remember when.   Could have been early 2000's.

I have used a CH Flightstick Pro joystick for a long time, but I am not certain how long. The one I am using now is my second one (purchased for a fiver from some kind soul on AVSIM who responded to my plea for a backup). Those two combined must date back at least 15 years, but it is probably longer than that. I agree that CH products seem to be built to last.

Never noticed any lag. It's a great app.

Saitek yoke, throttles and rudder pedals. All still work(with their usual drawbacks) and boxed.

No longer using them for obvious reasons but they lasted quite well since I bought them back when fsx was released. Obviously regular maintenance and cleaning was required.

Actually that's my oldest usb. I have a Logitech wingman interceptor game port joystick that I bought in 1999 still in the loft.

CH Flight Sim Yoke and pedals here too. For 16 years.  I got 'em both at a yard sale for about $12 usd (for both!). This lady lawyer had kicked out her unfaithful simmer boyfriend  and she wanted all of his sim stuff gone pronto. She thanked me for taking it all... boxes of aviation books, software & hardware.  I often think of CH Products as our Fisher Price... it`s durable stuff.  It still is the fun haul of the Century for me; well worth the tong lashing I got from my spouse when I got back. But sometimes; you gotta do what you gotta do, eh?

Saitek X-52, with throttle detents removed and neodymium magnets added. I bought it in the US in 2011 and had it sent to Colombia. Then, when I moved to Argentina, I had to leave it behind because there was no more space in my bags (I never forgave my now ex-wife for this). When I first went to visit my parents (18 months later), that was the first thing I packed into my bag for the return trip to Argentina. So, I don´t know if this counts as 9 years or just 7.5, but this is a lot... and still it keeps its wow factor 😁

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

CH yoke and pedals as well. Gosh, I’ve had them since I was working on my PPL in ‘99. I thought that certainly they couldn’t have been around that long but found a review of them online from 1999 so I guess so! Only maintenance I’ve had to do on either was hit the pots with a little DeOxit spray.

I just exchanged the yoke for the Honeycomb this year.

You can grab a Gen 4 iPad for under a $100 on Ebay. The app will work on a gen 2, for that matter.

Microsoft sidewinder precision 2 joystick, new in 2000, still running strong. Brought out of retirement twice after these new fangled sticks failed after a few years.

Yeah...... I have one of those too, along with an abiding distrust of any Microsoft hardware since then, as they have a nasty habit of abandoning stuff at the drop of a hat, leaving customers that trust them in the lurch.......

Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick. Loads of play but still works perfectly.

God knows how old it is. 15 years perhaps.
