Do people think that a GTX 1660 Super with the recommended CPU and 16 GB of RAM at 1080p can get the same quality as the Youtube streamer was getting?

I don't know if it's true, but I saw a person who claims to have a GTX 1660 6GB and 16GB RAM saying he's getting between 30-40 FPS at 1080p ultra settings.

I saw other reports of people achieving good performance on high/ultra settings with specifications close to those recommended by Microsoft. It appears to be relatively well optimized, at least at resolutions lower than 4K. For a flight simulator, 30 Fps is good.

When we consider that AeroFly FS2, with its very detailed scenery, is capable of running at 200 fps on a reasonably average machine, showing what can be done with a decent graphics card and a program which is not tied to the CPU or any demands on backward compatibility, and also consider that the new MS FS sim has to run well on a console which when you get inside the box, is effectively a reasonably okay gaming PC built to a price, then it's not really too surprising to learn that it will get okay frame rates on a PC with a decent GPU, as that is essentially what an XBox is.

Nice.  I'm only targeting 1080p resolution so if a GTX 1660 Super (with recommended CPU and 16 GB of RAM) can get me 1080p at ultra settings, I would be more than happy with that.

I got a RX480 and I am a bit worried. 🙂

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Take into consideration that it's standard sim, without any third party addons. I can imagen that fps will decrease by law when we fly into third party addons with our PMDG's and FSLabs's.

Looking carefully at the aircraft selection screen, in the videos, I saw a biplane. Will there be a biplane in the released product ?

You are probably right, 737_800, but then again, It looks totally enjoyable flying with default scenery. Though, I am going to be the first to buy the pmdg stuff when it it's released 🙂

According to a developer the simulator runs "fine" on his GTX 1060, which is only a tiny bit faster than the RX 480.

The RX480 has 8Gb of DDR5 VRAM. I have one myself, it runs P3D V5 well, so it'll not struggle at all with the new MS sim.

Yeah, I was just a bit worried about the GPU speed. The VRAM will of course be beneficial for certain settings given it is fast enough.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Okay I must admit, after watching the latest  leaks few times, going back to XP11 just now to fly was hurting my eyes 😂

If you can hear past th robotic voice, the ATC  is at least saying 'mostly' the right phraseology .. and tbh, that just a bonus since i just need competent ATC ..  Ill go onto vatsim for phraseology...

And both flights look great! They had my money already but i just feel more confident now.
