Microsoft actually developes a sim for the community. They do listen and try to fullfill our wishes! What other sim does that? No, not even XP.

The interesting part is, that the people who actually played it are far less critical than we watching those videos.

IMO they still are the same money focused beast. But they've learnt the long game now and know the value of good karma when it comes to creating long term happy customers.

I'll tell you several reasons why will be flying in the new MFS on release day:

1. I've always bought the new MS flight sims on the day they release, because I know I'll be spending LOTS of time with them.
2. I love everything to do with aviation.
3. I'm tired of the two sims I've flown for the past ten years: FSX & P3D.  I've been wanting something better, something different, for a VERY long time now.  It is finally here, and I am not waiting any longer.  I'm migrating onward the very second I can.
4. I have plans for TONS of virtual Earth exploration and bush flying, and the sooner I get started on my plans the better!

Will the sim be in better shape a year from now?  Most certainly.  Will people who wait a year to buy start with a better sim to fly in?  Of course.  However, those of us who buy on day one will ALSO be getting that better version of the sim too, BUT we'll have a full year of flying experiences with the new MFS already logged.

To me, that's more important than waiting for the "perfect" time to jump in.  A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow!  😁

The coming months will be the perfect time to start using FSX, because the maximum amount of content will be available then. 😁

--- and so will the brand new X Box Series X in November -  with the spec that the sim is designed for  - 4K - HDR-  60/120 FPS

As a teen (20 years ago)  I played my younger sisters friend at 1 on 1 in basketball in my parents back yard.. I knew he was the best player on his schools team and I just mostly shot free throws by myself but I figured, why not. He was about 6 inches shorter than me but could shoot at the rim in a way that i couldnt block it.  He beat me 12 to 1 or something like that. To make myself feel better I laughed at him letting me score a point.  I think it bothered him... a little....  And that made the loss sting a little less.  but at the end of the day he still beat me by 11 points.

 

No.. the new sim is not perfect.. nothing is.. i dont think anyone thought that.  Even with its flaws, Its still much better than the other options.

There are several AAA titles where I'm getting between 40 and 50 FPS on a 2080 Ti with everything cranked to Ultra, so this is not unusual.

If you are looking for a reason not to buy this game then don't. Save the bandwidth for someone who wants to be amazed.

There are a lot of things to be amazed with to include a very smooth and nearly stutter free experience. 

Tech Insiders have about spilled the beans as much as we can here to let people know everything is going to be alright. If you refuse to listen, then we can't help you. I am sure there is a support forum for people with 2080 Ti who believe their video cards are underutilized.

Ahem! just joking with you! I've been guilty of going to one or two release night openings of my local game stores, but that is for console games. Whilst there are some exceptions (not that many) in that console games get patched down the line, a lot of them do not. They are released, they work, some people don't like them, some do, and I get to play the game before any of my peers do unless they too were at the store! I get to explore the game with other new players. For example: Yes, it's oneupmanship, but that's fun if you're one of the first to find the sweet spot on a map in a first person shooter, thus decimating the opposition..

For the record, I never had a version of MS Flight Sim that ran as well as this one. And I'm on a 1070TI, running  at1440p.

Or it could be that they are finally seeing a sim fulfilling desires that have existed in frustration and helplessness for years.......

Make no mistake: MSFS is absolutely not perfect, but I see it like that old quote about democracy:

I see it this way as well. Again, MSFS is not perfect, especially some aspects that are definitely still a work in progress. However, taking into account the full sum of its parts, and vast potential evidenced by same, it goes further towards the oft-spoken desires of the majority of simmers (and certainly myself) over the years than anything I have ever had to date, and I'm standing by that.

In fact, for my purposes, its almost overkill, with many detailed aspects that I am not now and probably never will be interested in, but which I expect will delight many of the more hardcore simmers...... before they inevitably begin grumbling obsessively over the details.

(That they never had before in any base sim......)
