I'm afraid You haven't had the experience in Mexico City under rain, add a whatever manifestation and a 12 mile ride can take 4 to 5 hours.

Thats pretty much how I feel at times, flying in real-life, with a bunch of low time GA pilots, who all think they are the second coming of Chuck Yeager. But, ultimately, that is real life, and this is a game.Relax, don't get so upset over something so silly.

Not getting upset per say it's just there's been discussions about how bad default ATC is.  I know there's an option to opt out of Multi-Player mode.  My point is I hope Asobo keeps developing default ATC/AI as Multi-Player has it's pluses and minuses in some areas.  People here are touting third party ATC which unless it works with default AI is a problem.  Knowing that Asobo reads these forums it's good to put a word out about frustration with those of us who are purist (if that's the word to use) and those that are crash and burn gamers.  By all means have fun on all ends and have the options out there to do so but this thing is so good some of us would want to use it on a more serious level.  Developing the default ATC/AI engine goes along way in achieving that.

I've never had any desire to use the big online ATC networks.  But next week, I think I’m going to join VATSIM and sit in a GA parking spot at a busy airport and laugh my word not allowed off.  It’s going to be gamer kiddies vs the overly serious pretend pilot brigade.  It’ll be mayhem!  And at the end, I hope, both groups will learn some things.

Clearly you don't fly on Vatsim; there are prescribed producers for dealing with 'gammers', as you describe them.  Also, it's unlikely said gamers will participate via the Vatsim  network; for example, the Steam release of the FSX SE had little to no impact on Vatsim.  However, you saw youtube channels like AFProud95 skyrocket using the Steam multiplayer mode.  The people who prefer to use the sim for 'gaming' will do so via MFS embedded multiplier function.  Just as they did with Steam....

Clearly I already said I don’t fly on VATSIM...  and fsx steam never attracted the numbers that this is going to.

You could always just not go on youtube. Granted you'd miss my top notch videos, but it's not compulsory. Have a beer, a nice meal, watch a film, play a game, dig the garden, polish your car, go to the park, whatever.

I know it's annoying that some twits have a freebie copy they can play with if you weren't among the people who got access to try it out, but if you bought it, you can try it in a couple of days; getting wound up over some people not knowing how to fly a toy plane on a £1500 computer, is the very definition of a first world problem.

Oh no! Somebody is having fun doing something that I don't like to do! They shouldn't have the right to do that! CALL THE POLICE NOOOOOWWW!

Seriously what's wrong with people nowadays?

If they don't understand your hobby, it's wrong and they want to shut it down for everyone. Is it something they put in the water maybe?

This sim will live and die by how much this community values it. Microsoft know that, and Asobo know that. Give it a few months, the 'gamers' (for want of a better word) will either get bored and disappear or become bona fide sim enthusiasts as all of us once did.

... There is no way I would want to share the virtual skies with these folks.

On the bright side there's good odds they have a similar disinterest in sharing skies with you, so it's a win-win!

I for one always found it was a lot more fun and exciting to hang out with the crowd at the biker bar than at the country club.

Last I heard multiplayer will have multiple "settings" with regards to how you are expected to fly, unless I misunderstood the explanation of this feature violating flight rules in the "full realism" setting will cause ATC to freak out and it wouldn't surprise me if you eventually got kicked back to the main menu. The sim hasn't even come out yet though, why not let things settle for a while and see what the developers decide to do with respect to multiplayer and it's different options instead of complaining about something we can't even use yet?

There are more options to do it 😉

For all the complaining about the ATC, it's still better than FSX/P3D.

I almost hate to ask, but I'm seriously interested in knowing...could you elaborate a little with some specifics as to what exactly improved with the ATC as compared to the FSX version?

never used Vatsim either

But I thinks its realistic specially for those training for their commercial licenses
