Very interesting! I will certainly check this. I last flew yesterday morning from a US airport, and the problem was still evident then. Perhaps the wind bug has been on the server side this whole time, and they finally found the source of the problem on that end.

I’ve suspected it may be a server problem, since the wind injection does generally work well if the aircraft is loaded at an airport in Europe, which would indicate that the sim’s internal weather engine can support surface and aloft winds - but obviously that won’t matter if the server itself isn’t providing the data for some geographical regions.

If you press Alt & Enter to put the sim into a windowed mode, and you are playing with real time weather, that will make the weather disappear, you'll have to put it into windowed mode from the graphics menu.

Another bug supposedly.🙂

Yes there are issues but many are enjoying it now, provided you can get it installed that is

Well I must be in the minority then. Don’t get me wrong the game shows massive promise for the future but the release was far too premature.  By December this game could be incredible until then we need to recognise it for what it is and that is a beta, albeit a beta which costs circa £100!

ofourse its a premature release, a kind of public beta,

i am loving it tho, if you cant handle issues, wait a few months.

i am pretty sure the real bugs will get solved,    but soem ppl report bugs that re not bugs at all.

Just a note regarding inability to install.. not sure if this will help anyone, but I was finding it impossible to install since the first day it was released.

First I had to uninstall and reinstall Adobe PDF Reader - more a Windows issue but the installer bombed out saying it couldn’t find the Reader msi file.

Then it would not find my device on my account (ie my PC) even though my account has been happy to acknowledge my device for years.

looking at forums online I found that MSFS will install with the Microsoft Store App if you are having problems with their website. Except that there was no trace of a Store App on my PC and no obvious easy way to download it from Microsoft. Then luckily I happened to find some command line code that you can use to download the Microsoft Store App, and Bingo it worked. Just installing now. I was a bit worried in case the code did something nasty instead of installing the App, but all seems OK. But we shouldn’t have to do that with a £100+ program.

So from the sound of it you're telling us your PC had got itself into a bad state, either from something you installed or some virus it picked up on the net, and it's all the fault of MFS and Microsoft? 🤔

Give people power to really test their personality.

How can I create and develop complete scenery, including cities with drone aerophotogramteria and airports. Where do I find tutorials for this?

Yeah, but I am drawing lots of fun from participating in that Beta, plus I would have bought it anyway, so no biggie.

The only thing that could spoil my fun is if ASOBO does not listen to our input and improve the sim.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Have you downloaded and studied the SDK yet?

Just a guess, but are you using a Honeycomb Alpha Yoke? If so, that's a known bug with an EASY fix. In Options/Controls under the yoke bindings there are four bindings for magnetos that don't belong there. They are assigned to buttons 31 through 34, but there are no such buttons on the Alpha. Just delete those assignments and, presto, the bugs will move 1 degree.

On my Honeycomb Alpha Yoke 31 thru 35 are the magneto switch.  Not that you need to use them if they cause a problem.

Bill,

Unless I'm missing something entirely, there are no buttons 31-35 on the Alpha Yoke. Look at the picture in the sim under Controls for it. Every button is accounted for. That's why you can remove them. They couldn't do anything anyway.

I will look in the sim controls if I ever get it to install.  😉  Run the Honeycontrols software and you will see them there.  I use them in P3D for my piston aircraft.

31 - Off, 32 - R, 33 - L, 34 - Both and 35 - Start

Obviously they are seen in the sim.  I'm not doubting your word.

I hope that this image link works.  😊

Why they cause the problem that they do is a mystery to me.  😘

Apples. Oranges.

And I just find it a little disheartening that most of the bugs have been around since 2019. Despite endless bug reports.

I stick to my position that you choose to see the negative.
Why is it for me a total different experience? I started with FS4  (imagine the graphics then!) and i am unbelievably glad that there is a new version after FSX at all. And on top of that we get a development-pledge of 10 years, so this is only the beginning!!!

Compared to having no new flight-sim at all, as was the plan after FSX at MS, how can anyone NOT be glad? I wonder....

Ah! That picture does help. Yeah, no idea why this bug exists, so it's clearly something they have to fix. I wonder if I re-bind them if the Heading bug will still act up. I'm frankly guessing that you won't even be able to re-assign them by using the buttons themselves.

Hasn’t cost me anything so far. Gamepass!

Keep us updated, or I will try to use them if I ever get this sim installed.  😜

Utter nonsense.

I choose to be positive about the great things about the new sim. And I choose to be negative about the bad things about the new sim.

Adults don't need to be either all hyped-up people with rose-colored glasses or disappointed haters. You can be critical and still like the sim. I have no clue why you're being so touchy. Maybe the internet isn't for you? 😉

We don't need to pretend the sim is perfect.
