The weather always had a wind of 3KTS no matter where you were, at least for me now its working correctly.

Very interesting! I will certainly check this. I last flew yesterday morning from a US airport, and the problem was still evident then. Perhaps the wind bug has been on the server side this whole time, and they finally found the source of the problem on that end.

I’ve suspected it may be a server problem, since the wind injection does generally work well if the aircraft is loaded at an airport in Europe, which would indicate that the sim’s internal weather engine can support surface and aloft winds - but obviously that won’t matter if the server itself isn’t providing the data for some geographical regions.

Funny you mentioned that about the Philippines.  Flew from Naga city over to Legazpi last night to check out Mount Mayon in the sim.  Holy word not allowed the detail!   All the way down to the old lava flows that you see in real life.  Even Lignon Hill was there.  These are the moments in the sim that just take my breath away.  Certainly has changed the way I fly in the sim and I'm sure I'm not alone in that sentiment.

Glad to hear this, I should have said "parts" of the Philippines in my comment. But I know they will be updating the imagery in the years to come so we can expect things to look even more spectacular.

How is it at low level? I know photo-scenery is at its best from high alt but Im curious to know how it looks from close up as thats a small worry of mine.

It’s not too bad at low level, but yes you are right, better at altitude.  But even at 1000 FT, it still looked great.

No mention of CTDs that makes the game unplayable for me and others? So also no indication for us if the issue will even be addressed after we have to wait another week?

I'm sure it's terrible for you and others who are suffering this issue and I sympathise but maybe it's not affecting a significant number of users and hence isn't a top priority problem? This issue obviously needs to be resolved but I suspect that other issues have a higher priority for available resources.

I use Onair via simconnect and have zero stutters. Seems to be the app and not FS causing the problems

How can Onair helps to reduce stutters? I read about and it looks like a program hosting an airline company. How does it help with stutters?

Just a note regarding inability to install.. not sure if this will help anyone, but I was finding it impossible to install since the first day it was released.

First I had to uninstall and reinstall Adobe PDF Reader - more a Windows issue but the installer bombed out saying it couldn’t find the Reader msi file.

Then it would not find my device on my account (ie my PC) even though my account has been happy to acknowledge my device for years.

looking at forums online I found that MSFS will install with the Microsoft Store App if you are having problems with their website. Except that there was no trace of a Store App on my PC and no obvious easy way to download it from Microsoft. Then luckily I happened to find some command line code that you can use to download the Microsoft Store App, and Bingo it worked. Just installing now. I was a bit worried in case the code did something nasty instead of installing the App, but all seems OK. But we shouldn’t have to do that with a £100+ program.

Too much to ask that Microsoft could help people with such install issues on their website? That was painful.

P3D v5 ain’t goin anywhere off my PC soon yet. still enjoying it. Looking forward to MSFS though.

I don't understand. That coral-reef effect in the tropical water in the Around the World video (flying over Moorea)... I don't have that. My water is not showing this - 'just' a slightly different tint of light-blue/green around the island; but not coral-reef effects anywhere... Is there some setting I'm missing somewhere? 🙂

It is said that there was a satellite imagery update in the area and the water masks have to be done by hand again for a future update.

It’s not helping for stutters. It’s a Programm that uses simconnect and has no stutter issues. So for me that’s clear: the stutters are not coming from simconnect by default

Anyone tried adjusting the bugs on the compass and baro etc in the C152? They only move in increments of 10? anyway to move them in increments of 1?

Another positive is that the program interacts with Windows pretty well.  Pressing Windows key works as it should, alt+enter toggles full screen mode flawlessly, resizing the window is smooth as butter, no problem to alt+tab into a browser for a moment, etc.  May be that other sims work just as good, but isn't the case with many other entertainment titles.

Just a guess, but are you using a Honeycomb Alpha Yoke? If so, that's a known bug with an EASY fix. In Options/Controls under the yoke bindings there are four bindings for magnetos that don't belong there. They are assigned to buttons 31 through 34, but there are no such buttons on the Alpha. Just delete those assignments and, presto, the bugs will move 1 degree.
