August 30, 20205 yr My `Live Weather' continues to be absolutely horrendous Still get 48hr+ old depictions. Despite in the real world Hurricane Laura now a cluster of storms moving off the east coast, in game it's still a well defined tropical storm/depression sitting over Missouri. I've tried every trick I know except taking ownership of WindowsApps and running the game as admin.. Nothing works.. 48hr old weather on a daily basis. The windmills are animated out to over 7000 meters by contrast. Windsock and Windmills are the only two objects in this particular folder. Hook Hook can you point us in the direction of that folder? August 30, 20205 yr Looks like some people on the official site have been in touch with Meteoblue and Asobo and worked out the data is going from MB ok and being received by Asobo ok but somehow not translating into the software. August 30, 20205 yr I get wind shear that could destroy the plane when the wind gets injected in the sim, just like it did in fsx, I'm no programmer but it doesn't look like a difficult fix to me. I mean gusts are a thing, even strong ones, but I don't think it looks like the plane has been hit by some nuclear bomb detonating nearby. I fired up the sim last night, right around the time you posted. In my world map, I did not see what is shown in your image. The remnants of Laura were shown in their actual position at that time - mainly in eastern Ohio and central Pennsylvania. I am wondering if the streamed weather data is locally cached for efficiency, and in some cases the cache is not being updated with new data? It would explain why some users see weather that is very outdated, like the image of Laura in your screen shot, while others see a different depiction at the very same time. This is something I have been worried about ever since I watched the Asobo / MeteoBlue partnership video. The MB developer discussed how their forecast model divides the atmosphere into discrete cells of a certain size, with multiple vertical layers within each cell. This is standard practice in computer modeling of the atmosphere, but the drawback is that conditions can change instantaneously when moving from one cell to another (horizontally) or climbing or descending vertically within a cell. There needs to be a smoothing algorithm in place to cause a gradual shift in wind direction or velocity, temperature or pressure when the values change. August 30, 20205 yr I appear to have solved my live weather depictions being 2-3days old. RivaTuner.. Ever since I started closing it it before running the game, my weather is pretty darn close to real world accurate now every time I load the game. It's not the first game, nor the last I've known where its injection for OSD causes graphical issues in game. It would explain why the map would show one thing but the on the ground weather would be completely different. Every time that I post something about RivaTuner messing up a flightsim, a whole bunch of RivaTuners yell at me. I wouldn't run RT, unless you absolutely need to do so.

It's usually my very first go to app to shutdown to rule out bugs and crashing... For some reason though for flight sim it was the very last thing I was thinking of as the problem. Not because I didn't think it, just because I completely forgot about it. I use the FPS display as a frame rate check for flight sims and games since I don't always trust internally-generated FPS counters. Haven't noticed any problems so far, but now I'm wondering... August 30, 20205 yr I run RTSS and there's no issue with weather delay. Also very hard to imagine how these two would interfere. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20
