I'm an ATCer and the tower guys not only did a complete public disservice, I also feel they were a part of that fatal accident. At those airports where airliners mix with GA - ATC is inclined to give airliners the right of way - that's simply not how to work traffic. The approach controller was responsible for sequencing the SWA and SR22 to the airport....even if tower is providing visual separation. ...... As a controller and I'm very blessed to also be a pilot. I've worked traffic for over a decade at the TRACON level and tower level.... and having my pilot's license has been incredibly important for these situations. Sorry for the off topic rant! Agree with you Ryan. The poor lady was panicked into complying with multiple instructions and trying to "please" the controller. In any case, he could have calmed things down by sending her to hold somewhere - she had plenty of fuel - while the commercial traffic eased up. But I also agree, her status should have been equal to any other aircraft. Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
October 20, 20205 yr I got this livery in now... sweet - I think I got the hang of this...and with the json generator it's not too bad...maybe 3 minute task. flipper by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Edited October 20, 20205 yr by ryanbatcund | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 20, 20205 yr Speaking of liveries I have been toiling away for the last week making a more robust repaint template and am embarrassed to say I haven't tried to fly this prior to last night. Is there any trick to turning up the brightness for the G1000 displays? None of the controls on the far lower right side of the panel seem to do anything. I am also using the Working Title G1000 mod in conjunction, if that makes a difference. "That's what" - She
October 20, 20205 yr Rob, Thank you so much for this mod, we sure appreciate your hard work. One question, I dont seem to see any effect in regards to torque, P factor and so on. Is this a limit on the FS2020 model? I barely require any right rudder on take off and I would expect a lot required with all that power 🙂 John

October 20, 20205 yr Did some nice flights around Texas last night (collecting some $$$ in FSEconomy.....so I can buy a Bonanza...haha..and landing practice). I've been working on watching the CHTs in a more realistic way (staying below 195 as much as possible per the TAT documentation). Every time I try to fly one of the stock aircraft I end up back here. It feels like I'm landing an actual aircraft and not an F-117 with the fly by wire computer on the fritz 😉 AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

But not having flown a Bonanza myself it was tricky to judge and watching the many YT videos it doesn't seem to be that strong, although you can't always see what feet are doing! You can turn both torque and p factor up by opening the flight_model cfg file (after making a safety backup). The relevant lines are in the FLIGHT_TUNING section of that file.and are: p_factor_on_yaw Torque_on_roll Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page

That is actually a real picture isn't it? 😄 Looks phenomenal Ryan! I'm getting it as well. 👍 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). TBH some of the instructions about maintaining a high speed etc to slot in between approaching airline traffic seem to be pushing the envelope for a Cirrus to get there and then get down on to final in time regardless of who was flying it. I suppose that is where the pilot needs to put the foot down and say "sorry not in this aircraft sir".
