The fix is in the current developer version. Not the stable. Open the downloader and make sure you have the current developer version.

Thanks I will try!

I just did a flight using the latest FBW developer version with the Lateral autopilot fix.

While it seems to fix the route tracking it still failed to intercept the LOC and was offset 2 dots to the left on the PFD landing well off the runway?

John

My apologies perhaps I downloaded the developer version before it was updated? I re-downloaded the developer version and did a circuit around Toronto (CYYZ) and everything was perfect for the first time since the FS2020 update. I was about to re-install P3D but now I am very pleased I don't need to do that!

John

Excellent work by the FBW team and Asobo!  Seb stepping in personally to fix the problem was something I didn’t expect.

Update! Developer version does work! Happy now! 🙂

Thanks Asobo for the assistance to the FBW guys. And great work again FBW team.

This is great to hear.  A community-sourced AP is exactly what we nee as Asobo will likely never get theirs right.

At this point it's clear the Asobo AP was developed by a bunch of programmers sitting in front of a whiteboard imagining how AP might work except....

-  None of them has ever set foot in the cockpit of a real airplane, let alone flown one themselves.

- None of them did any research on how any specific real world aircraft AP actually works

- None of them talked to any engineers at Boeing, Airbus, Cessna, Collins, Garmin etc to ask how real work AP's are coded.

This is why each attempt at monkeying with the AP just breaks catastrophically in a different way than before.   It's like they stood at the whiteboard and said "Ok, when heading button is pressed we need to rock wings until correct heading is detected..." or something crazy like that.   Think I'm exaggerating?  Remember when the game was released the 747 would flip itself completely upside-down when you engaged autopilot.   It's not so much that they forgot to "detect" that "error condition", but they didn't even start on the correct path to working AP code, they just made stuff up.

Sheesh!

I remember when MS Aces told us that MS was giving up on Flight simming, I was depressed. I went into a funk my Fav hobby was being dropped for good...and now we have this! Who are these people?  Sigh!

So, out of curiosity, what the heck was the issue? 🧐

@cepact is correct.   This looks like a work-around, it's not a fix to the underlying problem.  It's also probably specific to the A320, but it could give other developers a hint on how to apply the same changes to their own projects until Asobo de-bugger things.

Please check your private messages when you can.

Thanks.

It's nice to be able to work together with Asobo to get around Microsoft's lengthy update approval process 😉

Now if we could get some suggested temporary updates for the GA aircraft...
