MSFS - Xbox Series X|S Announcement Trailer

Featured Replies

Microsoft Flight Simulator just won "Best Sim/Strategy" on The Game Awards 2020. Comes to Xbox Series X|S starting Summer 2021.

The following trailer showcases footage of the simulator running on the Xbox Series X, at real-time 4K.

So DX12 support on PC in about 6 months. Sweet!

just had to add this comment before it drowns in comments from the haters...

There's a custom made Griffiths Observatory model at the end of the trailer, which isn't currently in the sim on PC, it's only photogrammetry.

The coral reefs are killing me. Would love to see them in the actual sim like their always showcased in official preview pics and videos.  Hopefully in the next update.

Would like to hear what an potential or current Xbox X or Xbox S customer thinks? Not being a console customer anymore, can't wait to see how it works for them, what they will use besides just a controller, etc... But bottom line it has to work with the controller in every aspect right? I mean people take them on vacation, to friends houses, etc... Plus the economic impact it could have on MSFS for PC as well as Xbox? How many Xbox X/S versions could they possibly sell? And will it have all 3 versions like the PC for the new Xbox? Man you think there are flight sim wars. Doesn't even touch the console wars 🙂 Have they already announced flight sim hardware for the Xbox X/S?

I have always had this feeling they are hoping that VR may get around the whole controller thing for consoles.  Though I kind of doubt it will be as effective as people hope but who knows, the whole Bing map thing (flaws and all) actually works far better than I expected when it was first announced.  My thinking at the time was "streaming real time scenery, this will totally suck without gigabit fibre" but i was proven wrong.

3rd party developers must be getting sweaty palms. 10-12 million Game Pass users can just click "Download&Play" to test MSFS. If you can capture the interest from 0.5% of those you can make some good money.

It makes me worry about the tidal wave of garbage that will flood the marketplace from "developers" looking to make easy cash.

Or that it will draw amazing talent that previously haven't shown any interest in flight sims.

Very possible too. Let's hope.
