Impressed with the latest Update

I’m impressed with the way the aircraft feel with the new controller sensitivity settings.

I am also having issues with pyramids and spikes appearing on the ground.  I was flying in SE New York.  I noticed that as you approach them they disappear and then seem to reappear when flying away from them.  Any clue what's going on?

I'm hoping for the talented and gifted minds that solved time ago the high buildings issue may come with a fix for those annoying terrain spikes that come and go. So much for the monolith appearances and disappearabces not long ago... 😄

Now terrain spikes all over the world, and i can't say this update is good. No one can see this common bug before release the update?

update is great for me. It removed some hills around my local airfield that is no present IRL.

Happy simmer here.

I am also seeing the terrain spikes in random places but overall a good update.  Night lighting is very much improved...surprised I haven't seen more comments on it!  I guess a solution to the terrain spikes for the moment is to do more night flying....

The clouds still suck even on ultra. The terrain is now messed up with spikes all over the place. And the CJ4 has the trim inverted!? (taken care of by the WT mod of course). The weather is still not remotely accurate by a long shot.

Hard to love this latest release with so many major glaring shortcomings....

Some see a glass half empty, some half full. I'm in the latter camp. Update went smoothly, and I like the improvements. Clouds def. look less pixelated.

Nobody commenting on the artifacts looking like little pyramids popping up in the scenery all over the place.  The UK is riddled with them and a few other countries too.

I saw them last night while trying out ENGM.

I have always been a "that glass is filthy just pass me the bottle" sort of guy.

For me the update was good btw .

Happy with the update as well.  I haven't seen any of the random pyramid spikes yet (most of my flying so far as been at night though).  Tomorrow I'll see if they make an appearance in the Florida panhandle (where I'm going to be landing in about an hour).

Add me to the 'happy with it' list too.

Night lighting is back to being great too, no more crazy lit up roads in the middle of no where. Enjoying my red eye transcon so far.

Update has been pretty good. Have never CTDs or any major problems with the sim. Most problematic was poor AP response in heading changes after previous update, but that seems to be much improved. Have seen some scenery spikes even before this update. All in all, I am very pleased with the continual improvements in spite of occasional breakage. Love the sim and it is on the way to being epic!

Prompted to comment after seemingly having the update twice. I must be missing something. My system received the update on 22.12.20 I think (1.12.13.0 IIRC)

2 days ago on startup it prompted to update again, but showing existing version details as confirmed by the Windows App list in settings. The update looked to be <1GB and seemed to go ok, though on first start the 320 was missing, but that sorted itself after another start.

I also have the terrain spikes, though I’d naively hoped the update I mention might actually be a patch. Got an impressive Devil’s Tower on EGCC 23R approach as one example...back to the free fix then.

I’d agree that the clouds need work too. Some aspects look great, others less so, rough looking pixelation and weird vertical lines at certain angles.

Mostly observations, but if anyone can throw any light as to why the update seems to have happened twice that would be interesting,

I have to ask how an update can provoke the terrain issues that have appeared, without being spotted in testing as they aren’t exactly hard to find, for me anyways!

The reason it looked like two seperate updates is down to just how they release the Navdata updates. This latest update 1gb  was only navdata only. The way they release it displaying all the info fom the original upate on the 22nd Dec just causes confusion, as there are no release notes to advise you.
