A question, did you have the chance to contact Jörg the head of MSFS in regards to AI related SDK requests? When I have some more time I will try again, does he has any special mail adress or just the one posted some moths ago via twitter?

Yeah ignore that request at the beginning, he has a new email only for third parties and modders to contact him and it seems working as we saw with WT and FBW. The new email address: [email protected]. I think he would help as himself is also frustrated by the livery topic since it is very hard to get the permissions from airliners, especially these times as you already know (corona). Also another question for you, in the latest Dev Q&A, they have mentioned that they have already fixed several issues with flightaware, this fix will be available in sim update 3 next month (I think) and hence would it make sense to at least only offer a model and livery matching with flightaware as intermediate solution until you can sort out the offline flight plans issues due the SDK? of course given the model conversions is completed. I thought about this and I'm curious as to what is so hard. My assumption here is that all it takes is an e-mail to marketing folks for each airline with the question. If he's not getting answers, maybe we should help him by tweeting at the airlines to gain some traction 🙂 Jorg, give me this job and I'll get you the permission! 😉 Jacek G. January 28, 20215 yr As long as people couldn't crash the planes into spectacular fireballs in videos that end up on youtube (which obviously they can't in MSFS), then as long as the quality control was there on the logos etc. so they don't look amateurish, then you think they would want the free advertising. If I was head of marketing for an airline and saw my rivals colours in there, I would want mine in there as well! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. January 28, 20215 yr I don't understand what the big deal is for Airline companies to just say yes and allow MSFS to use their liveries, it's basically just a cosmetic skin for the body of an aircraft? This is not only about "yes", this is also involves the legal department and paperwork and especially if airliners are public, I know this for sure since I am sort of working in similar corporate environment, even to just allow external partners to use the company's logo, there is a lengthy documented legal process for that. Hence I can foresee that many airliners just don't have the capacity to deal with this and this is the least thing they worry about as many suffering with this situation. January 28, 20215 yr Why are liveries the holdup? Fix air traffic and have them all white or no liveries or fake liveries.Once you get the OK from lets say DELTA add in the livery and so on. Edited January 28, 20215 yr by Bigsby
January 29, 20215 yr Could the liveries not be changed slightly so as not to breach copyright? A blue and white Lyingair 737 and an orange Sleazyjet A320? You would hardly notice. The airlines would soon be asking for their liveries to be displayed properly 🙂 Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
January 29, 20215 yr Since everyone is talking about using someone’s airline brand for AI aircraft, how come this issue never become apparent legal issue in the P3D and earlier MSFS ecosystems? Can someone clarify?
