Here is a video of my first test flight, the Spitfire seems at home here at Shoreham EGKA. aahh was that you over EGKA about 9pm this evening? I saw a fellow Spit in the air whilst I was dive-bombing the airfield and generally larking about, did a wing wave heading East then over stressed and back to menu 😄 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

March 5, 20215 yr Evening all Just downloaded the Spit and have made a few exploratory flights out of my local - Biggin Hill. I think the visual model is very good with a very nice 'sheen' to the paint etc. Cockpit is well modelled and feels 'right' to compared to Spits that I have been able to sit in. The prop spinner animation looks weird - a bit like one of those 'wonky pots' on a pottery wheel. The vibration animation on start up also feels a little 'rigid' to me ? I may be a loner here but I would really have liked a modern 'warbird' pilot figure. I think the Mae West / leather helmet is fine for DCS where you are going to fly their Mk9 in combat scenerio's. However, in MSFS the attraction to me is that we will be flying this model in the very modern world with todays scenery and no Dorniers or 'Einkels around. At least the option of a bone done version of the pilot with a modern flight suit would be well received I think - much like Warbirdsim did with their P-51D.. V disappointed in the sound modelling - start up and shut down are way too abbreviated and the Merlin also doesn't sound right through the power ranges either - hopefully that will get some attention as many have commented It may very well be me and I know the Spit is a devil to handle on take off and landing but with a very gentle application of power up to +7 and easing in right rudder I found the thing still swinging wildly off to the left. On landing (once the ice had melted!) I had no trouble getting her settled into a 3 point touch down but then she again she starts a pendulum swing and tipped onto the left wing tip. I will reserve further judgement as I know "a bad pilot blames his add ons" and I will put in some more practice when I am fresher tomorrow ! Looking forward to Jan Kees works of art for this bird !!

March 6, 20215 yr Having spent some more time with it this morning, yep, lots of fun and well worth the money but I hope they can tweak some things: - gunsight doesn't work and the lens is just a flat texture - supercharger seems to have no effect, just the light comes on - FM feels sooooo sluggish, especially around the roll axis. Haven't timed the turns yet but can't imaging they're much better - no discernible drag from the radiator flaps - sounds are a bit flat - mirror doesn't work (although neither does the G91 so guessing this isn't in the SDK yet?) But still, because of the overall quality of the VC and MSFS world, it's definitely the most satisfying for the schoolboy in me! March 6, 20215 yr Doing a video review of it at the moment. Had to think of a quick song for the vid, but got one and that's recorded, so the vid should be up in a few hours. Bet you can't guess the song! Re the rear view mirror not working, two things: It apparently works on the Black Box Simulations Bird Dog for MSFS so I've been told, but I don't have that add-on so I can't confirm that personally, and the other thing about the mirror, my old mate W/Cdr Jimmy Jay who flew Spitfires in WW2 and Meteors after the war, told me that if you saw anything in that rear view mirror on a Spitfire, it'd be too late to do anything about it lol. And he should have known because he shot down a Junkers 88 in his Spitfire, and those things took some catching. Anyway, back to the grindstone for me and that review for my channel... I hope you've been enjoying her, if you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them all as soon as I can 🙂 Happy Flying! Dan FlyingIron Sims Hey Dan, Absolutely incredible aircraft. Thank you for your work on this. One problem is that starting from cold and dark, the ATC radio doesn't work. It keeps saying electrical systems need to be on. I don't know what those ABCD buttons do, but none of them make a difference. If I spawn on the runway, though, the radio works. Any insight?

If I may pile on one more thing onto my wishlist - it's minor, so no big deal if you can't do it - the clickspot for Pitot Heat switch is near the rudder trim wheel, if you hover over it unless you bring your camera WAY down, I can't get it to lock onto the pitot heat switch. It's no biggie, but perhaps tweaking that clickspot a bit may make life a little easier.
March 6, 20215 yr A couple of shots from an out landing. I like the detail & little touches. Also, a Keyboard AP for Hold ALT & Hold HDG works without having to get into Engines.cfg. T45 Nice rivet delineation. The TE end of the 1st white GT stripe, the small arm poking through - is that part of the flap system? Canopy scratches, flush screw heads - nice touches.
