Just leave it as is and fly in the US at airports that don't have this issue until ASOSBO fixes it, at least during this weekend. Stop the frustration y'all! Enjoy the weekend by flying. 🙂 or try something completely different.... Decided to pop down from Exeter to Jersey and see all the new boats there 🙂 turn of Bing live and fly for the heck of it and the fun of it in something very different 🙂 Edited February 13, 20215 yr by Moria15 System specs... I flew the FBW A20N (dev branch) about 30 mins around EKCH earlier with no problems, incl. takeoff, 2 touch'n'gos and a full stop at the end. Ah darn it! 🙈 Wish I had done now, would have enhanced the experience even further. Flight was good though, I'm new to Vatsim so not knowing if the airport was going to crash my sim on short final was something I'd rather not have risked! February 13, 20215 yr I am afraid this is the nature of the beast if you want regular updates. They can do like the legacy sims and release a couple of updates per year but will that make you happy? As for the comments about them not finding this in advance - so many configurations and scenarios its hard to find all problems in advance. I have had zero CTDs since I bought MSFS but then again I have zero 3PD sceneries.

Yes, 76 hours later, they have closed the thread, as expected over there, as it was starting to get a bit tasty with the criticism and the 'where is the communication', 'what's happening about this' postings! They don't like it up 'em! Do they? Edited February 15, 20215 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Too many patches still inbound which tends to screw things up the more you run this sim from it's stock configuration. I'm going with a one year plan from release before I go crazy with add-ons and mods. This is a 10-year project so I keep this sim on the back burner mostly for now and don't try to force too many things that are just going to cause issues with every update! February 15, 20215 yr Well they have locked the thread in the official MSFS Forum Bugs and Issues section and marked it as "completed", just like they did with the scenery spike thread. Then they will close any other thread that is created referring to this issue and point to the closed Bugs and Issue thread. I assume that keeping people from discussing the issue ensures that it is less likely to show up in people's Google searches about MSFS and makes it easier to sweep under the rug later on. February 15, 20215 yr Or it might be that after 483 posts, many of them identical and the topic having gone round in circles several times, it had fulfilled its purpose by the time it reached post 203 and someone from Asobo finally acknowledged the existence of the topic and said that they would do something.

Maybe a community member might come up with a fix (like the fix for the scenery spikes) and want to discuss it with other community members. Maybe people might dig into the file format and want to discuss the technical details of the crash. Maybe people might just want to post how it impacted their weekend plans and how they intended to use the software that they have purchased. There are few legitimate reasons to forbid discussing a problem with the sim, once all discussion has been funneled into a single thread. February 15, 20215 yr People did all of those things many times in the next 280 posts, except find the solution. That seems to lie with the developers of either MSFS or Bing imagery, or perhaps both. There is of course nothing to stop the opening of a new topic if a solution is found. I have nothing to do with MSFS or their forum, by the way, I am just offering an alternative to flaming them because they closed the topic.
February 15, 20215 yr There is no real solution yet but a workaround is to search for files named sai*.cgl and either rename the files or temporarily exclude those packages until the official solution is released. Something to keep in mind if tomorrow's release gets postponed or does not fix the CTD's

Something to keep in mind if tomorrow's release gets postponed or does not fix the CTD's I just tried Paderborn (EDLP) - with the CGL folder left unchanged and I got a CTD; when renamed CGL.xxx, no CTD. So an easy enough fix if you don't have many add-ons with CGL files/folders.
February 16, 20215 yr I didn't get an update? When was it? I also have not had any CTDs touch wood. Ah! EGNM OrbX - CTD Edited February 16, 20215 yr by jarmstro
February 16, 20215 yr Author The other work around if it is just the runways on just the one scenery addon causing the issue on your current flight is spawn with Bing maps off and then turn Bing maps on again once your on the runway. PROVIDING your flight plan is not taking you over another texture file slightly further from the runway itself or a texture file belonging to a different addon some distance away of course.
