MS/Asobo did not know until it was too late.

I do not think that can be used as an excuse, does Asobo not do tests? This is just absolute incompetence.

Basically if the scenery uses default runways taxiways etc it will still work.

If the scenery has custom bespoke ground textures to make things like the parking areas more realistic it will crash 😄

Ironically there have been numerous scenery threads here where people have said things like "I refuse to pay money for an airport without a custom runway texture if it uses default taxiways it should be freeware "

Thanks for the heads up,  Very frustrating and hopefully will be corrected with world update 3.

Looks like I picked the right day for my first P3D flight in a month.

Number one reason why I haven't gone crazy with add-ons and mods....

Too many patches still inbound which tends to screw things up the more you run this sim from it's stock configuration.

I'm going with a one year plan from release before I go crazy with add-ons and mods.  This is a 10-year project so I keep this sim on the back burner mostly for now and don't try to force too many things that are just going to cause issues with every update!

It's difficult to get rid of add-ons, considering this sim is surviving in part thanks to just that, the add-ons (the mods, the coastlines and terrain fixes, etc.). It's not the add-ons the cause of the trouble, it's the core of the sim.

Simply move/disable your Community folder  for now. I'm sure MS will figure it out.

I've dedicated more of my time to MSFS over the last few weeks, ending years of a tenuous relationship with P3D. I am trying to see how long I can go tweak and addon free for once. Its not that hard to do with MSFS tbh.

Yes it is but it's also inevitable that the core sim is going to go through many growing stages which will effect everything not tied to the core game!

Well this bug effects marketplace scenery as well.

But yes either turn off Bing maps or disable your addons, community and marketplace both.

This would be my suggestion. Don't turn off anything. Not the Bing, nothing. Just leave it as is and fly in the US at airports that don't have this issue until ASOSBO fixes it, at least during this weekend. Stop the frustration y'all! Enjoy the weekend by flying.  🙂

I am still using payware addons with the 3 flights (Europe) (1.5 hrs each) today, and have yet to have a ctd in flight. It's only occuring for me on taxi to the gate, so still possible to use if you can put up with that.

I was also able to do a flight this morning KPCM to X06, both pay ware, with no CTD. This afternoon I will try X06 - X01 to FSDT KEYW and see what happens. Maybe they have already fixed it in the background?

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

Flew in and out of Gatwick (the amazing freeware one from flightsim.to) today with everything enabled and it didn't crash. Presumably that one doesn't have anything that conflicts with Bing.

It's a shame as I planned to buy FlyTampas Copenhagen for my flight today but after reading these threads I didn't and just used the default EKCH instead 🙃

Honestly I am supporter of MSFS, but with this issue and that is storming on every forum (here, official, orbx and aerosoft), MSFS team should be held accountable for this issue, it includes Asobo, Jörg and Bing team. With little acknowledgment to nothing officially from MSFS team, they broke the our lovely sim to state that is "bearable", I know you can fly with bing switched off but it looks ugly as it gets and kill the immersion. Very disappointing indeed.

Shame that this is happening, although I am happy that MSFS is not my primary sim, and still haven't invested a lot of money and time in it.

The problem at hand does not affect FT EKCH which uses a combination of .DDS and .json files. I flew the FBW A20N (dev branch) about 30 mins around EKCH earlier with no problems, incl. takeoff, 2 touch'n'gos and a full stop at the end.
