Is there possibly something I could be missing to not get a stall horn or gear warning sound?  I know the manual says the battery master needs to be on...which it certainly is.  I just don't understand.

Also, I'm new to JustFlight products....how do we know / download an update for the aircraft when there is one?

Just Flight usually email customers when there's an update if you've bought the thing, but you can simply look out on the internet at places like avsim and flightsim etc and such updates will normally be announced. Then you simply redownload the main installation file like you did when you first bought and installed it.

Occasionally in the past they have posted on the Just Flight forum if there is a 'quick fix patch' or 'tweak' you can use which has not been beta-tested fully enough to become the official product download exe file on your account, but this is rare. On the rare occasions which this has occurred, there has been a link to the file or fix on the thread mentioning it on the Just Flight forums on the specific product's forum section, but to be honest, anything like that would probably be an interim 'use at your own risk' proposition.

Historically, Just Flight is pretty quick at updating the download files on your account at their site, even for product bought from there which are by other developers. They are normally very quick to implement patches as well, and usually pretty responsive to requests and suggestions from users too if they seem to be the consensus of many and can be implemented without too much trouble. It's one of the good things about buying their stuff, they don't just abandon things and move on to the next project.

They have set idle to be 1,000 RPM, which is too high. There is a fix I found on JF's forum.

idle_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=0.49 will give you idle rpm of 600
You can change that in engines.cfg

Did it. Works great! And no more rolling away at idle.

I wish they would include that in an update. 1000 rpm for idle is ridiculous.

If you are not getting gear warning an stall warning, something is wrong with your installation. Can you reinstall it? Maybe you should go to Just Flights web site and fill out a ticket with your problem,

Thanks for this.  I won't have to stand on the brakes or set the parking brake every time I want to stop for a moment.  👍

PS  How did you make out with the GPS 100?

Just a thought, As a change is being made to a file in the mod, does this require a new .json file?

Exactly. Quite apart from the fact that not all runways have an ILS, but you can still fly to them in IMC if you have the DME tuned, if your radios actually are picking up the signal from an ILS-equipped runway's transmitters, you can simply 'fly the needles manually'. You could have literally no autopilot at all on your panel and you could still use an ILS system to assist with a landing, so long as you've tuned its frequency on nav 1, dialled the course to the runway heading so the needles on your basic gauges are lighting up with the correct steering guidance. This is of course why it is called an instrument landing system rather than an autopilot landing system. Every pilot really should be able to fly an approach using that method, or at least be familiar with it, even those without an IFR rating, since even a VFR-only pilot who doesn't normally take off if there is a cloud in the sky could conceivably be caught out by weather and have to make such an approach.

Yep, and even if the only IFR airport near you has huge fees if it is not your home airfield, you can still fly a practice approach and just not land (Tower permitting of course) .

You don't need any toggle commands, you need to use LVARs for a bunch of items, a few can still use SimConnect. It all works perfectly as it should. I have a honeycomb bravo and saitek switch panel fully mapped and everything works great with discrete on and off commands, not toggles.

Unfortunately I don't know what that means...above my expertise.  I have a very rudimentary understanding of FSUIPC, and have mapped what I can in there.  Unfortunately, FSUIPC only goes up to button 30 or whatever, so the switches on the Bravo aren't able to be mapped through it....I'll just have to deal with it for now until it maybe, hopefully, gets patched and we can just use the "on off" commands through the sim.

Figured out it just displays your MSFS flight plan. I never do a plan there, always manually input. So I'll have to try it. Only one flight so far but I really like it.

It doesn't. That line is already in the .cfg file so it's just editing the value. Worked great for me.

I'm glad that it is working for you,  My old memory remembers them being a pain.  I'll have to take a closer look.  😊

Thanks Bill. I guess it was a bit much to ask for it to be fully functional. They'd have to build it from the ground up since there isn't one in the sim. Probably only appeals to a couple of old folks anyway! 🙂

I was surprised that they included the GPS 100,  I'm 'old folks' and it doesn't appeal to me all that much.  Might be fun to try though.  😁

FSUIPC itself can only adress the first 31 buttons of a stick. You need to have a lua script to get access to all buttons. Head over to this guide. There you'll find the link to the script.
