March 11, 20215 yr It's 100% positive, not sure why some are trying to put a neg spin on it. Hey, I'm the first one to call out when I think something is annoying or wrong, but Asobo finally did what I've been hoping for from DAY # 1. Bring some outsiders in, get a new perspective, get some modders into the company so they can explain what the issues are. This has huge potential to fill in most of the gaps we've all been dealing with, best news of the year IMO. Edited March 11, 20215 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
March 11, 20215 yr I think it's a good move in the big picture. I know for many it will seem like a big delay, but it's for the best, IMO. If it can give ASOBO some breathing room for other things it should be well worth it. The WT team have done a really good job and ASOBO has a ton of stuff they're already doing to improve the sim as well as all the other stuff they're adding. March 11, 20215 yr You guys, and a handful of other modders have made the sim enjoyable in all honesty. I am very pleased at this... yes some will lament the loss of constant updates of the CJ4... but thank God you have got it to the state it is in lol. This is good news for the sim... bringing your level of professionalism to the other aircraft is awesome. Also, can we just recognize the dedication that Asobo and Microsoft are showing? Here is a big company that is clearly genuinely into improving the product... seeing the things this team has done, and actually bringing them on board. Well done.

That's part of the reason Microsoft have brought us on. 🙂 Guys, please take him into account if you can. I didn’t think it would be productive to ask for support when I couldn’t do anything to help along the process. Especially if they needed me to check something or test something on my end. my GPU tanked and I can’t get my hands on one at the moment. My job also doesn’t allow me a lot of time at home to be on the PC and what not. I do truly hope that this will be a smoother integration process and my specific issues are naturally ironed out. Like I said, good luck to the team and I’ll even add a congrats to them. March 11, 20215 yr I have a simple question: Asobo releases an update that "breaks" a functionality, say flightplan sync or navigraph ingetration, of the current mod. Will WT, as the team has done so far and has done so very quickly, provide a fix for the mod?

Yup, that's what we meant when we said "WT will continue to maintain the existing projects, including minor feature updates, version updates and bug fixes" in the announcement FAQ. A breaking update of the core sim would represent a 'version update' 👍 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
March 11, 20215 yr Are you primarily going to be working on avionics? Areas such as GA flight modelling could also use some help. I realise that that is well outside of what you have worked on thus far, but it does seem that you have very broad experience within the team.

Our partners at Microsoft are very eager to let us focus on what we do best and bring improvements to the sim an in efficient manner. Sure, there are going to be changes in how we operate, of necessity, but I don't remotely feel like we're at risk of getting sucked up and lost in "the machine". If I did I would not have signed on for this. That is correct, we are now Working Title Simulations LLC, and we have contracted with Microsoft to perform work on MSFS. We certainly have contractual, and moral, obligations to them, and in the end they ultimately dictate the directions we go. But we also have a good degree of freedom in how we operate, we have a great working relationship with our associates on the other side, and we hold a mutual interest in us being able to focus on what we do best. Thank you very much for your response. I did not know this and it indeed is excellent news. I fully support what you have done and look forward to what you will be able to achieve in the future. March 11, 20215 yr I think this is excellent news. The quality of the freeware mod to the CJ is really good, and that will hopefully set the bar even higher for the other payware creators! Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
March 11, 20215 yr I agree with the sentiment here that that is an sound move and could open up some excellent possibilities for the development of the sim -- I have been impressed by the quality of their interactions since the sim was launched. It has given me some renewed confidence that Asobo is trying to make this into a fully fledged flight simulator. MSFS 2024. March 11, 20215 yr I'm excited about WT's ability to work on the SDK. This will hopefully speed up it's development which should then allow for other "high end" aircraft developers to have a more evolved platform to work with and hopefully also accelerate their own aircraft development.
March 11, 20215 yr Congratulations to all WT team! It is a much rightful recognition of your work and talent. Good luck to you all (..your luck will also be all simmers luck...)! Edited March 11, 20215 yr by ega Edmundo Azevedo
March 11, 20215 yr I am not into mods for various reasons so I think it's absolutely GREAT that everything WT has done and is doing will be added to the default sim officially! I don't mind if that means some things may take some longer: in the end it's great for MSFS. The better the default sim is (and the less mods we need) the better imho. And of course it's also a great sign that MS/Asobo is doing this...! That bodes well for the future! Edited March 11, 20215 yr by tup61
