This is interesting considering I installed the WT garmin upgrades and it killed my performance in VR. I seriously hope that moving forward in this fashion that I’m not stuck with poor performance because of the avionics.

Very hopeful though that the sim will be much better with this team onboard. Good luck guys.

Did you happen to file an issue on github or otherwise reach out to the WT folks?

Finally had a chance to try the new/latest version. It is refreshing to be able to taxi and drive around without having to set max thrust to move. Second it is awfully close to both flying and taxiing a real plane now. Pretty amazing especially coupled with the avionics and flawless flightplan from taxi to takeoff to landing and parking. Was able to finally make a proper crosswind landing on runway 27 with winds 200 @ 26G32 right on centerline crabbed into the wind. Was also nice to see it plant itself on the runway when on speed, without all the excess float and meandering nose wheel.

The only issue noted was some rather severe oscillation in trying to hold the magenta line while on A/P NAV both in cruise and approach... disconnecting and re-engaging it seemed to alleviate.

Look forward to the WT team giving the treatment to some other planes so can try using them... as this is the only thing worth using currently 🙂

Without going into details, we want to be able to bring the WT "magic", if you'll forgive me the indulgence,  to every plane in the sim, yes.  That's part of the reason Microsoft have brought us on. 🙂

This is so incredibly exciting!

Sorry to bring this up as it is slightly off topic.

In yesterdays update topic, I noticed that a few people had the TBM as a "Wonder Woman" concept, ie not aircraft ... just the runway or scenery in front. The recommended solution was to delete the WT G3000 Mod.

I have done this, rebooted, reselected MSFS and the TBM remains structureless.  Whilst the G3000 mod is still removed, is there another solution for this scenerio please.

Apologies for off topic, but I did think to take advantage of the obvious presence here.

Thanks in advance guys

I have to admit I for one am not really happy about this.  What this implies is that all his prior work is now stopped.  He will lose flexibility, scope and energy.  His work will be only a small component moving forward and he will not be in charge and will be dictated to.  We will only see any hint of his stuff once every few months at best.  I do not think this bodes well.

My impression is they are not working directly for MS but forming a company that will be subcontracted by MS?  If that is the case it is quite a different situation to being employed.

Either way congratulations to everyone from Working Title.  The CJ4 mod is an example of what the MS default planes should have been all along form.

Is everyone on the WT team moving to Asobo/MS?  No one left to turn the lights on and off if needed? 😟

EDIT  I looked  back and see where CWB stated not to much change for the community projects.  Great news all around.

I do not see this your way at all mate,  I have read somewhere that support will be continued.

I also see their role in Asobo as a team working on their projects with input into other areas.  I am sure that if this is wrong someone from WT will respond accordingly.

As such, I really see nothing but, benefits coming to us and the sim itself.

This may well be the usual "cup is half full" approach which I normally adopt.  I just hope I am correct and you are proved wrong, and I mean this in a nice way.

You're certainly entitled to feel that way if you wish, but I hope we will be able to prove you wrong.   Our partners at Microsoft are very eager to let us focus on what we do best and bring improvements to the sim an in efficient manner.  Sure, there are going to be changes in how we operate, of necessity, but I don't remotely feel like we're at risk of getting sucked up and lost in "the machine".   If I did I would not have signed on for this.

That is correct, we are now Working Title Simulations LLC, and we have contracted with Microsoft to perform work on MSFS.    We certainly have contractual, and moral, obligations to them, and in the end they ultimately dictate the directions we go.   But we also have a good degree of freedom in how we operate, we have a great working relationship with our associates on the other side, and we hold a mutual interest in us being able to focus on what we do best.

I cannot believe the few people who have queried who "WT/WorkingTitle" is. Considering their already, HUGE, or should I say BIG, involvement in the community, I can only say that there must be a lot of rocks out there.

Speaking of "BIG" this is far BIGGER than FSA as far as I am concerned.  A very wise decision MS and Asobo.  For the old WT team a very big thank you for your past endeavours and your promised continued support. Your contribution has been incredible. Good luck in the future.

Tony

Exactly. This was actually THE BIG THING comming

Cheers :)

As @MattNischan said on the interview: being a developer and flightsimmer for decades, and having the opportunity to work and influence the future of flightsim, is a dream come true.

Congratulations once again to the WT team, couldn't be happier for you guys!

Cheers :)

Fantastic news! How exciting to go from doing something you love for free to getting paid for it. I am overjoyed at some positive words from this community for a change.

Thanks.   It really is an amazing opportunity.   It's going to be a ton of hard work, I'm sure, but worth it for the ability to spend that time working on something we've all been obsessed with for (for some of us) decades.   And I can't say enough how grateful we are for the love and the support shown by the community that has helped us get to this point.  This deal doesn't happen in a vacuum.

It's good to have an opportunity to follow your dream and have Asobo believing in you. Now get back to work 😛
