My question for Matt and others, are you guys going to continue to work with the FBW team for example in some features to be in the sim?

Also a second question, I would assume you guys will also influence the SDK but would you also communicate with other third party developers on the SDK matters, let's say PMDG?

We have no plans to change the availability of our Github repo, we will remain available to support other open source teams and I expect that we'll be contributing to the SDK. Part of our shared vision with Microsoft and Asobo is to enable as many 3PDs to bring amazing content into the sim as possible, and there's a shared understanding that there's still a gap to be closed there. As I mentioned before, nothing is changing about our community involvement and if any other open source devs, FBW or otherwise, want to talk directly with us about the future, we'd be more than happy to have those conversations. We're right here, available to talk...

It's going to be tough to go back to those former navigation units but I guess it will be worth it in the long run once the team's work starts to be reflected in the sim updates. 🙂

No reason, the mods are still supported and we just released updates yesterday and today. There's no plan to change that...

Speaking of third party support, Navigraph has published a discussion about charts and the implementation in the CJ4, along with some guidance for how other 3PDs can incorporate Navigraph charts into their products... cool read and I can't say enough great stuff about the folks at Navigraph and their support in getting the charts API working in MSFS.

For sure. Our intention is definitely to continue to be an interface to what is possible with the SDK, as well as continue to influence (and now implement) what features are needed for accurate flight and navigation. The FBW folks are super capable and they by no means need us to hold their hands, but any help we can give, we'd love to.

We haven't talked specifically about this yet, but I assume we will be talking to other third parties as well, yeah.

Again congrats guys! You guys must be proud, the whole thing started in github and now you guys paid partners with Microsoft 😃.

Thanks! We're just crazy humbled by the whole thing. Very cool and exciting.

We'll be continuing to provide support for the existing mods via bugfixes and what not, and the code will definitely remain up, for anyone to look at and/or use.

I think this is great news, and a good move by Asobo/MS. Why work separately instead of joining forces and leveraging WT's amazing expertise?

@kaosfere Out of curiosity - has MS/Asobo discussed the possibility of getting the Working Title flight plan manager in other default planes (in addition to G1000-based aircraft and the CJ4)? Would be a huge improvement to the sim as well.

Without going into details, we want to be able to bring the WT "magic", if you'll forgive me the indulgence,  to every plane in the sim, yes.  That's part of the reason Microsoft have brought us on. 🙂

I really hope that Reality XP is on that list 😉

So could we see third party planes with Working Title avionics in the future?! Maybe like Carenado? And congrats to the WT guys!

Dave.

Count me in too +2

This is interesting considering I installed the WT garmin upgrades and it killed my performance in VR. I seriously hope that moving forward in this fashion that I’m not stuck with poor performance because of the avionics.

Very hopeful though that the sim will be much better with this team onboard. Good luck guys.

Matt and Domnik and the others from WT, I have only one small request. Can you please on the first day, just send Asobo's default autopilot to the trash with no return? 😂. Please make sure is not retrievable through git history, if needed, please rewrite the git history, just make sure no way to get it back 😂

Congratulations WT, you seem to have achieved something very rare in these parts; getting both users and lead devs liking the cut of your jib!

I cannot believe the few people who have queried who "WT/WorkingTitle" is. Considering their already, HUGE, or should I say BIG, involvement in the community, I can only say that there must be a lot of rocks out there.

Speaking of "BIG" this is far BIGGER than FSA as far as I am concerned.  A very wise decision MS and Asobo.  For the old WT team a very big thank you for your past endeavours and your promised continued support. Your contribution has been incredible. Good luck in the future.
