In fairness, that was on PAGE 3 of people moaning about FPS. *I* had actually had enough of it. LOL

Yup, that was my point too. Although if anyone can think that far back, when the famously long-delayed previous flight sim CRJ came out and there was an immediate issue with it, the developer wasn't able to fix it because 'it was a weekend and he was on holiday'. Anyone remember that? Top notch service and planning that was.

So it doesn't surprise me to see the developer having a strop on a forum and closing a thread in spite of some legitimate complaints. What he knows about customer service would comfortably fit on the back of a postage stamp. 🤣

I've been having FPS issues as well today and not sure why.  Was perfectly fine yesterday, today massive drop.  Both days I've just been playing on the ground with the systems, haven't been able to set my yoke up yet to actually get a flight in (tonight for sure).  Yesterday I was running in the high 30's with the APU running.  Now I'm 29-32 for no reason, 47 before starting any power.  So weird.

Ok I think this is definitely the SU3 issue after more testing.  It's really weird too.  Load at KPHX (big airport etc) no FPS problems.  There's a drop but still mid-30's as I'd expect.  Also, about 25% CPU usage on average.  Go to smaller airport KSMF (Sacramento CA) and get that 30-32'ish when everything powers on.  CPU is at like 50% which also doesn't allow higher than about 65-70% GPU usage in external view (where I'd be almost pegged at most airports in external in other aircraft).  So I just did a torture test and loaded at KSFO (premium deluxe version) both live weather and Rain preset.  Getting better performance than at KSMF and only 33% CPU usage.

Edit:  to clarify my SU3 thought, I was noticing similar weirdness at small airports with default aircraft and the JF Piper.

OK, just tried flying LOWI to EDDM.

- Installed from Aerosoft, no problems with download, took about 2 minutes, so servers seem to have settled down.

- Setup simbrief to send the Aerosoft CRJ flightplan to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\aerosoft-crj\work (this is for the Steam version, different location for the MS version)

- Flightplan loaded fine into FMC.

- Takeoff and climbout: feels very light on the runway and in the air, bounces around an awful lot. I know it's a small jet, but there's no feeling of weight.

- Engaged autopilot, severe bank to the right and then dive. Not sure why, but plane was aggressive in its attempt to kill me. Also occurred on 2nd and 3rd attempts to activate autopilot. I didn't use active pause, but this reminded me of the craziness that sometimes happens after you use that function.

- Flying without autopilot for the remainder of the flight - not at all convinced by flight model. When I fly the cub, it feels fairly realistic. This doesn't.

- Flew mainly in VR. Performance acceptable. Pretty poor choice of plan for VR due to the tiny flight displays, very hard to read.

First impressions: if you're a VR flier and/or planning on using autoflight, would not recommend at this time. Would be interested in others opinions of the flight model and autopilot function.

I'd set the knob to 1/2 bank. I did and no issue.

This one is interesting as I had no such experiences last night, I found Otto to be quite smooth and working well.  I remember having similar issues in the P3D version though.

I wonder what the difference is a result of given that different people seem to be having very different experiences?

Going for flight 2 tonight so will see if anything crops up.

it's a know bug issue with WPT that are at medium to far distance from each other. The AP can't seem to settle. I use heading mode to settle the plane, Put back NAV mode and it's fine.

I checked the Aerosoft forum, one guy there ran in to stability problems due to using legacy flight model. But I'm using modern as one should for this plane.

There's also a large number of reports about the plane rotating by itself at fairly slow speeds over at Aerosoft. That was my experience as well, the takeoff from LOWI was not something that the flight crew or passengers would choose to do again!

Just noticed I was still on legacy mode from using that helicopter mod.

2nd flight & starting to get to grips with the 700.

Apart from Nav not grabbing the Magenta Line, the only thing that is 'off' for me is the extent of the exhaust fumes.

I do a lot of flying 'tucked in behind' & at the moment the back end of the 700 is very blurry, due to copious shimmering exhaust emissions.

I vaguely recall in P3D or XP11 there were some overly smoky aircraft & you could get into a setting & tweak the particulate level.

Anything like that available for the 700?

Hi guys

Just bought this bird, trying to update the AIRAC using the manual download from the navigraph website

I only get these options when it asks which flight sim during the installation

  • Microsoft flight simulator
  • Microsoft flight simulator X - Steam edition
  • Lockheed Martin P3D v3
  • Lockheed Martin P3D v4

No option for MSFS?

I stand by the above, the first option actually says Microsoft flight simulator X

That's FSX not MSFS correct?

Yup, certainly sounds like it.

Same guess here. Slight stutters were introduced with su3 for me. Anything else soft and smooth, crj included and actually a tad better than the FBW neo. Tend to agree with AS that the crj cannot be to blame. Just look at my system specs. Yes, no ultra settings, just a mixture between high and medium here and there. Did eglc to eddm today. Only issues I saw due to me insisting to fly that bird without reading the documents.

You must know there is a problem with MSFS at the monent AS say they have not seen it there and all is fine......yer. The arrogance is breath taking and always has been.

Yeah indeed, that what really makes my eyes roll. I mean I am a software engineer and I understand the frustration of Hans but still you can't just shutdown a thread with that "I am tired, locking the thread" lol. I kinda feel regretting buying from Aerosoft, this experience it reminds me excatly with the awesome support (sarcasm) when I got the airbus for P3D, lock the thread with "we believe it has been resolved" without even confirming from me if it was really fixed 😃

Yep, that's how I roll too. Not saying it is good, just saying 🙂 But I am very happy they are there for other people that want to read everything about it. BTW, the EFB and the aircraft state is amazing. Cold & Dark, Turnaround, Before Start, Ready to Taxi, etc... I would think even other people would use them when they don't have time for the Cold & Dark, but want to get a flight in. It's also cool how it is instance and doesn't do a full reload, which is what I thought it was gonna do. Nice feature, for me anyway.

Apparently they use the default autopilot for "some" functions according to Matjias own words, I think they are using it fully lol.

For me now, the real complex autopilot for MSFS is FBW new custom autopilot (is experimental, I don't think many are aware of it), that monster really a complete from the scratch custom autopilot with 0 think from the default autopilot and oh boy, it just feels super good to switch from the CRJ to the FBW experimental autopilot branch to fly.
